Chapter 121 - Spared

On Asgard, the second squad finally stepped out of the portal. Their weapons drawn and they are ready to join the fight. But as their feet touched the ground they were met not with the familiar halls of Asgard but with a scene of utter carnage.Their eyes widened in horror.The were not inside the palace's corridor. They are now in a yard filled with corpses of their comrades.Bodies from the earlier squad lay scattered across the ground, twisted and broken in grotesque form. Blood pooled beneath the lifeless forms creating dark shimmering puddles that reflected the flickering light.They had been impaled by hundreds of rain, others charred beyond recognition.The air was thick with the metallic stench of blood and death, choking the warriors who had just arrived. Their breaths caught in their throats and a cold wave of fear settled over them.
