Chapter 19 - 018. Raiding The Beehive.

Clear skies with a few clouds. Perfect conditions for traveling in the sky, even though technically, no one can do it anymore.

Apocalypse conditions that force everyone to survive. No one would even think of traveling in the sky anymore.

That is, if you use a plane.

Ignoir flapped her wings and flew high. The wind passed over the face of Aril who was observing the situation below.

"Are we going down in the middle of their base?" asked Ignoir who had seen their destination from a far.

"Wait a minute, there's something strange," said Aril who wanted to stop the giant wolf's initiation.

"What is it, Master?" said Ignoir who had now stopped in mid-air.

Aril rubbed his chin while squinting his eyes. "We're landing outside their base."

Ignoir flapped her wings to fly down and land. Right beside the house on the side of the road.

Putri immediately jumped to the ground and hugged the ground while crying. "I don't want to fly anymore!"

Reizel got off the giant wolf's back with a slightly dizzy head.

After stepping on the ground, Reizel immediately vomited.

After expelling the contents of his stomach, Reizel wiped his mouth. "Next time, I'll walk."

After everyone descended, Ignoir instantly changed her form into the form of a human girl with wolf ears and tail. Her clothes also returned to long black pants and a sleeveless black t-shirt.

"I thought your clothes were torn because of the shapeshifting," said Aril who was watching the wolf girl.

"Hehe... These clothes are made of magic, so they can't be torn," Ignoir replied with a wide smile.

"Alright, it's time for us to move, let's get ready," said Aril who gave directions while clapping his hands once.

"Why don't we just go straight into the center? We can't possibly defeat them all. We have to move fast," said Reizel.

"I was thinking that too, but I feel something is off," said Aril who responded to the concerns of the man with sunglasses.

Reizel sighed heavily. "I thought you were more thoughtful about things like this. So, what's your plan?"

"We'll enter through the front door like how you usually enter your base," Aril replied, leaving Reizel confused.

----------------------------------------

An asphalt road with enough space for two vehicles to pass. On the right side and on the left side, there were several houses that were no longer lived in.

A few tens of meters to the right side, the sea came into the view.

Right at the intersection that divides the direction to turn right or left, there is a blockade wall made of a collection of rusty cars and motorcycles and some wooden furniture.

The gates are made of a collection of wood joined together to form 2 large gates that are the only way to pass through.

In front of the gate, a large man stood holding a machete.

"Hi, Rey!" said Reizel who was walking from a distance.

"Reizel? Where have you been?" asked the big man named Rey.

"I was just arresting these guys. You remembered it, right? The mission that Johan ordered Mr. Gilbert to do."

"Ah yes, I forgot, I thought you were dead," Rey looked behind Reizel and found Aril, Putri, and Ignoir who had both their hands tightly bound.

Aril, Putri, and Ignoir bowed their heads. Trying not to attract attention while Reizel spoke.

"I don't like this, why don't we just kick him and break in?" whispered Putri in the lowest possible tone.

"I want to eat his head," whispered Ignoir who felt uncomfortable for pretending to be weak.

"Be patient, just go with the flow," whispered Aril who tried to stop the intrusive thoughts of the two girls.

"So, what's going on here?" Reizel asked Rey.

Rey shook his bowed head while sighing. "It's a mess. Everything is chaotic. Since the big earthquake that happened 2 days ago, everything has become chaotic."

"What do you mean chaotic?".

"At night right after the big earthquake, a group of monsters came to attack. Giant wolves that could fly and spit fire."

Aril and Ignoir's attention suddenly focused on Rey.

"What does that mean? I don't understand," said Reizel who tried to dig up more information.

"I don't know what those monsters are, but there are many of them and we're overwhelmed. Many died while fighting the monsters," Rey replied.

"What about the slaves?"

"In this early morning, probably around 4 o'clock. That group of villagers came rushing in and took the slaves."

Reizel raised one of his eyebrow. "Huh? How come?"

"They used the help of.... Some kind of demon or something. I don't understand either. But the point is that it's a tough goat demon! And there are many of them!"

Reizel narrowed his eyes. "Kalomba?"

"I don't know, I don't know either. Several squads were formed to retrieve the slaves, but they haven't returned yet," replied Rey who looked worried.

"So, how many people are still here?"

"Only a few. Luckily you brought some new slaves and..." Rey looked at Putri and Ignoir with such perverted look. "Perhaps we can share the pleasure of the new slaves you brought."

Aril raised his head and burned the ropes that binding his wrists together. "I already understand what happened."

Rey immediately panicked. "Reizel! He's trying to fight back! We have to -"

Reizel hit the big man's stomach with all his might and knocked Rey out instantly.

The big man lay on the ground while Ignoir and Putri untied the ropes in their hands.

"As you said, something's strange," Reizel said to Aril.

"I though they set some kind of trap because the situation seemed so quiet from a distance," Aril replied.

"That said, we came at a good time."

"Perhaps."

Reizel pushed open the gate and the four of them stepped inside.

Their eyes widened instantly. A bunch of human corpses lying around and already swarmed by flies and also 5 giant wolf corpses that looked like Ignoir.

The smell of carrion now began to enter their noses as they stepped further.

Putri covered her nose and tried not to vomit. "Why isn't anyone taking care of the corpses?"

"Usually the ones who take care of such things are the slaves," Reizel answered swiftly while covering his mouth and nose so as not to smell the carrion.

"Slaves?" asked Putri once more.

"People who have no system," Reizel replied.

"You're a racist!"

"After all, this is also what that man named Gilgamesh wanted. So, it's not entirely our fault."

"Even so, it's unethical!"

"So, where are we going?" asked Aril, who also covered his nose and mouth.

"We're going to the Donggala regent's office. That's where the queen lives," replied Reizel.

"Queen?" asked an increasingly confused Aril.

"Remember the one about the telepathic expert? She's the queen," said Reizel who explained further.

"I understand now. So your community is like a beehive?"

"You could say that. Basically the queen doesn't care what we do as long as we do what she wants."

"And that guy named Johan?"

"He's the queen's right-hand man, he's one of the few people who's ever met the queen in person."

"How strong is he?"

"He is a user of the ( Alchemist system ) and he is very powerful."

"What element does he control?"

"Not an element."

"Huh? What do you mean not an element?"

The four people's steps immediately stopped when 6 people suddenly blocked their way.

Reizel, Aril, Putri, and Ignoir were instantly alert and prepared for the worst.

"Wah... Wow... It turns out that the lizard became a traitor," said a woman who had short black hair and wore a t-shirt and long pants.
