In a small apartment, a boy lay on his bed. He was tossing around and frowning in his sleep.
His body was drenched in a cold sweat. It seems like he is having another nightmare.
Every night, he would experience the same set of nightmares.
Let's switch to his point of view.
On top of a mountain stood the majestic figure of a phoenix. The mountain itself resembled a volcano.
The lava was not the usual fiery red color. Instead, it took on a unique silvery hue with strands of gold weaving through it. It was the same as the phoenix's feathers.
You might even mistake it for molten silver and gold.
The phoenix looked at me and suddenly took on human form. It transformed into a beautiful woman. She possessed long silver hair with golden strands mixed in. Her eyes were a captivating shade of ruby.
She grabbed my hand and led me to a chamber in the volcano. Contrary to what I was expecting, it looked like any ordinary house.
She sat me down and chatted for hours over tea. I wouldn't remember anything we talked about after waking up though.
The scene changed.
I was now in an enormous hall. It was a palace throne room.
The throne was as majestic as it was golden, emitting an otherworldly radiance.
A dragon's head was attached at the peak of the throne.
The figure sitting on it had an even more regal aura than the throne itself. He rested his elbow on the throne handle and used his palm to support his head.
He had black hair and purple eyes with slits.
His attitude was that of nonchalance as he looked down on me. As if he was a god looking down on a mortal.
I stood still, unable to move a single muscle. It felt as if there was a mountain on my shoulders.
I could only see his feet.
Using all the strength that I had at my disposal, I managed to raise my eyes and look at the figure before me.
The moment I lay my eyes on him, I experienced an inexplicable feeling of pain. I watched as my gut sliced open. My intestines were being pulled out together with my other organs.
My fingers and toes were severed slowly as they dropped from my body one by one. My arms and legs followed shortly after.
I watched as this happened to me. I couldn't even scream.
And the craziest thing was that this all happened on its own. As if by an unseen force, my organs and body parts moved of their own.
The scene then changed again.
I was now in a desolate landscape.
It resembled a battlefield. The land was littered with corpses. The sight stretched as far as the eyes could see.
Suddenly, the ground started to shake. Two behemoths clashed in the sky. The shockwaves released knocked me down. Literally.
I got up. The ground now had a body sized hole in it. I think I'm even bleeding a little.
The shockwaves stopped.
The lifeless body of a man fell from the sky. The figure of the other behemoth was no where to be found.
It was now only me and the man's body.
I walked up to him. I didn't even know why. I just felt compelled to do it.
And he wasn't dead. Despite being riddled with fatal injuries, he was very much alive.
He started to whisper something to me. I couldn't discern what he was saying.
Finally his lips stopped moving. He raised his upper body and changed to a sitting position.
He picked his damaged spear and pierced his heart.
Then I woke up.
Haa…
My breathing was ragged and my heart felt like it would beat out of my chest at any moment.
I got up and took a shower. It really helped me calm down.
Getting dressed, memories of my childhood flashed in my mind.
"Who thought I would be living like this today. Maybe driving them to suicide was the right choice."
In case you are wondering, then yes, I drove my family to suicide.
They truly deserved it.

It was my phone. I had received a notification. It was from WebNovel. A novel that I recently started reading had been updated. The novel's title was 'Rise of the extra.'
It had about a thousand chapters and I binge read every single one. The novel is looking quite grim now. The universe really might end up destroyed. It does have a tragedy tag after all.
I exited the apartment and was off to work. I worked for the customer service line of a big company called Zeha. I don't even know what the name means.
After a five minute walk, I reached the office building. I walked in and quietly settled at my desk. The office was full of chatter as everyone spoke in the most polite manner possible.
And so for the next five hours, I worked diligently.
My work is finally over.
As I weaved through the streets, I received another notification.
It was a message from Dion, a childhood friend. He said to meet up at the bar owned by his family.
To be honest, I have been meaning to end our friendship. He's getting annoying. I should just use it as an opportunity to end this.
I changed directions and headed to the bar. The bar was fairly empty since it was around 4:45pm. I was escorted to a private vip room.
Inside, Dion was sitting on a couch with his arm around a girl. I recognized her. She was Vanessa. My ex that got stolen by Dion.
I sat down indifferently.
The couple continued flirting and ignored me completely. It reached the point of them almost undressing in front of me.
Geez, get a room.
I know that they are doing it deliberately.
Dion finally turned to me. He started to chat in a friendly manner.
"It's getting late now. You should probably head home," he said as he worked towards me probably to give me a hug.
I decided to use this opportunity to end it.
"Listen, I-
Before I could finish my sentence, I stooped.
I have had a knack for reading emotions since childhood.
And the emotion that flashed through his eyes just now was one that I was very familiar with. It was malice.
Instinctively, I headed for the door.
It was locked.
Bang—
He shot me in the head.
I collapsed.
And the last thing I saw was Dion's smug face.
