"It smells like humans… they weren't that strong, but they noticed that the vampire had left and used that chance to ambush the remaining guards."
I still could follow them using the trails of the wagons in the snow, but I decided to leave and treat my wounds as well. It wasn't much, but I was bleeding… the cold was helping prevent te bleeding, so it showed that the claws of the vampire hit me deep. I wished that were another way to phrase that, though.
When morning came, I was a few kilometers away from Farchill, resting under a tree. I had melted the snow around with fire magic, but some snow had fallen around on my legs whle I was sleeping. The wound in my chest was still stinign, but it wasn't that bothersome.
"You are finally awake. Remind me again why didn't you use your potions."
"It is a men's thing."
"I didn't now that being dumb was a men's thing, but sure."
