Chapter 4 - Back Home

While the sun was directly shining and lighting the entire place, the actual temperature of the place was mild and even seemed nice if one didn't have to battle for their life in there.

'I get a point for each level up which means even passively I'll be able to become better in every attribute and I can just use the unused points to specialize in a field or I could even go for a stronger balanced build.' White thought as he finally stopped pacing around.

'Balance is a no-go, a jack of all trades is always bad in every game and even in real life, that's why people don't just become trained to be balanced but form teams made up of people who have specialized in only one or two fields at most.' White thought as he turned to look at his status panel once more.

'The question however is in what field I should specialise in?'

'Strength would make me a brawler while a combination of strength and agility would make me a warrior class.'

'Perception would most likely make me an Archer, and a combination with Intelligence would be a long-range mage. Similarly, Intelligence is either a healer or short-range mage and with perception, I would be able to cast spells over longer distances.' White thought as he stared at the attributes and then he looked down at the three last ones besides endurance which he decided to straight up ignore.

'Who wants to be a tank either way' White thought as he scoffed.

'The last ones are Charisma, Luck, and Agility, Charisma would make me some kind of seducer? or maybe an illusion mage. Luck is just an attribute that would be good to have in any specialization while Agility would be some kind of Assasin or stealth build if you combine it with perception.' White thought as he rubbed his chin.

'Of course, all of these are merely assumptions that could be entirely wrong but I will have to go with this since I don't have any more information, however before I do anything like spending the points, let's try opening some more parts of this system.'

"Inbox",

"Profile",

"Settings",

As soon as he said the word settings, a new holographic panel appeared above his status screen.

[ Settings]

[Audio: On]

[Pop-up Notifications: On]

It was a small panel with only two options, and White decided to keep them both for now though he thought of turning of Pop-up notifications when he was sure he was going to have some kind of combat.

White continued to mutter words that he had seen in-game systems until he arrived at:

"Menu",

A new screen appeared in front of him once more.

[ Menu ]

[Stats]

[Abilities] [ 0 Abilities ]

[Shop] [ Unavailable until level 30 ]

[ Evolution ] [Unavailable until level 100 ]

[Settings ]

'Shop, Abilities, and Evolution huh? I can guess what Shop and Abilities are but evolution could be a lot of things, while yeah it means upgrading or advancing something further than its current state, what is being advanced could be a lot of things. Be it my stats, my race, or my Abilities if I manage to get any in the future White thought about all the possibilities and decided to simply ignore them for now.

'There's no way I can figure it out by staying here, so I'll just leave that to future me to figure out' White thought and then opened his status screen once more.

'What I know right now isn't enough for me to just dive head in so I should pick a safe bet, something I know is useful in all categories and that leaves me with two attributes, Endurance and Luck.' White thought as he decided to sit down on top of the dead monster's body.

'I'll just go for Luck, I don't really want to get hit when I'm fighting either way.'

...

The pop-up appeared nine times until it finally stopped as White had used all his ability points.

As soon as he was finished with spending them, a portal appeared in the middle of the Arena.

'And I'm guessing that's my way out of this hell hole' White thought and then a large grin spread on his face.

Walking towards the portal, White was extremely excited and joy was coursing through his veins until it all stopped suddenly.

'How do I know that I'm going to actually be sent back home?' A chilling thought ran through White's mind.

'I have no actual way of knowing what is waiting for me behind that portal, it even looks just like one straight out of a gate when you look at it' White continued to think about how he should advance forward but was left stumped.

'There's nothing I can do besides go forwards, no the longer i stay here the weaker i become as i lose stamina and i start to get more tired'

Grabbing his sword which he had almost left behind in his hurry at the start, he once more started walking towards the portal though this time he was much more careful.

Vigilant of any movement even though nothing had happened since he had defeated the giant monster.

As he neared the portal he could hear it, the portal was making sounds akin to those of a hurricane that would suck anything around it in.

Deciding to stop stalling for time, White jumped into the portal, and for an instant, all he could see was darkness, and then in the next second he found himself back inside a training room.

And he started laughing like a madman.

'Fuck, I'm finally back'
