"'Odyssey?' Oh, that sounds very interesting. Could you bring it next time we meet, please?" Alex asked. he was confused about something but looks like what he thought was completely real, he was really mythical right now.
Homer nodded, and Alex walked away.
Homer stood there for a few moments, but then something strange happened.
"Oho? That's quite interesting, helping someone like that... Hermes," a voice said.
Homer just smiled and remained silent.
"Oh, damn it! I forgot to ask where I can meet him again... Oh well, I'll find him somehow. Anyway, time to meet that vixen," Alex sighed and headed down the stairs.
He first went to see Homer, but he wasn't there, so he returned to his house.
The next day...
"Aurelia... Alright, I promised what I promised, so here you go," Alex said as he handed the spells to Aurelia.
"What's this?" Aurelia asked, confused. She had never seen this kind of paper before.
"What you're looking at is a spell inscription paper. Now, let me explain how to use it..." Alex said, sitting down. Aurelia sat in front of him, her tail curled on the couch.
Alex started explaining the basics of using Spark Magic, going into the theoretical details.
"Hmmm... I have no idea what you just said..." Aurelia stuck out her tongue and smiled.
"Ugh... I'll explain again. Just ask me questions, alright?" Alex growled.
Aurelia nodded.
"When you look at the paper, you'll see a spell inscribed on it. You just need to focus your mind on it and remember the inscription. You don't have to memorize everything—" Alex began, but Aurelia interrupted.
"What's an inscription? And I can't read," Aurelia said with a smile.
"Oh, fucking..." Alex muttered.
"fucking? What's that?" Aurelia asked innocently.
"This is going to take a lot longer than I expected," Alex sighed.
"Inscriptions are words, but you don't need to know how to read them. Just look at the shape and remember it," Alex continued, but Aurelia interrupted again.
"How can I remember something I don't understand?" she asked.
"Alright, follow me..." Alex stood up, and they went outside.
He explained everything to Aurelia, and after a few long hours, she finally understood.
"Ohhhh!!! So, you're telling me I just need to concentrate my Spark energy downward, and the Earth wall will rise. I see, I see. You're so stupid, Master Alex. You could've explained it like that from the start," Aurelia said, smiling as she moved to the center of the training area in Alex's courtyard.
"You... little brat..." Alex gritted his teeth.
"Alright... do it," Alex said, waiting.
"AGHHHH!!!" Aurelia concentrated, and...
ANND...
ANDDDDDDDDD...
BUSH!!!
She farted.
Alex and Aurelia looked at the ground... nothing happened.
"WHAT!!!" Aurelia yelled.
"Hmmm... Wait... Spark... energy... I never taught you about Spark energy, did I?" Alex suddenly realized. Aurelia... didn't have Spark energy...
"Ohhh... right..." Aurelia said sheepishly.
SLAP!!!
Alex facepalmed. This was going to be difficult.
"Alright, close your eyes and concentrate on your surroundings..." Alex instructed, taking out a large leaf to help Aurelia connect with nature.
Aurelia sat down and focused.
BSHHHHH!!!
She felt the wind rushing toward her, the leaves rustling, the Earth throbbing with energy, and water flowing. It was a beautiful experience.
"Look around, Aurelia. You should see dots... Go and... CATCH THEM!" Alex encouraged.
He knew that if Aurelia had even a little talent, she would be able to see the dots. That's what Homer had told him—if someone could sense the dots, they could be powerful in the future.
In her trance, Aurelia looked up and saw... stars... constellations... enormous stars shining in the sky. It was odd, like the sun was still up, but the stars were visible in the blue sky. One star at the center was the brightest.
"I can see... nothing..." Aurelia muttered.
Alex raised his eyebrows.
"The only dots I can sense are... in the sky... They're so beautiful..." Aurelia instinctively raised her hand toward the sky and... clenched it... The brightest star was now in her hands...
"Huh?" Alex raised his eyebrows, and...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
One Month Later...
"GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Are you ready, student? You're going to the university, man!" Gard laughed as he playfully punched Alex on the shoulder.
"Yes, yes... Let's go." Alex looked around as they made their way to the university. He hadn't changed much, except for a small scar on his eyebrow.
"Man, I can't believe our Alex is going to the place where all the rich kids go. This is unbelievable..." Zachary said with a laugh.
"Yes, it's very unbelievable..." Captain Adam added with a chuckle.
"Well, without Gard's connections, I would've had to wait a long time to get into the university," Alex said.
"Nothing, nothing! We're brothers. How could I let your talent go to waste in a shithole like the army—"
BANG!!!
"OUCH!!! WHAT!!!??? OH, CAPTAIN ADAM!!!" Gard winced.
"Don't badmouth the army, Gard. Yes, it's a shithole, but without it, you wouldn't have the connections you have today. And even if we're not Magos, we can still be proud of protecting the Empire..." Captain Adam reprimanded.
"Come on, Captain Adam, we know you hate that place too. I've heard what you've said before..." Gard teased, moving just out of Captain Adam's reach.
"Gah, you guys..." Captain Adam sighed.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!"
Everyone laughed as they finally reached the university.
The place was majestically built, and even after seeing it once before, Alex was mesmerized. It was incredible.
They all entered the building and approached the counter.
"Greetings, lady. We're here for the examination test. Could you show us where it is?" Slick-mouthed Barot asked as he winked at the lady.
"Of course, sirs. Please follow me..." The lady smiled and pointed to the left.
They understood where she was directing them—to a corridor just to the right, going behind the counter. It seemed to lead to the back part of the university.
"Oho? That place..." Captain Adam smiled, and everyone followed where they were shown.
End of Chapter.
