Alex perked his ears up; he knew what they were talking about. Aigyptos was the name old Greeks gave to Egypt. When he was a kid, his family took him on a trip to Egypt to see the Pyramids. He was very excited about it, so he spoke with a few historians on the cruise ship. They looked nice, and Alex chatted with them about different voyages they had taken. They were priests who shared many stories, including the history of Egypt's discovery and how the Greeks colonized it afterward. The thing is, Egypt was discovered in the 5th Century BC when Herodotus wrote about it in his travels, which reflected the past in this world.
Alex continued to listen to the tavern-goers.
"That is interesting. Slave trade in a new civilization? That must mean they want to conquer that place, right?" The tavern patrons continued their discussion.
"Well, I've heard from my brother that that is not true."
"How so?"
