"What?" Gard sat back down, his mind reeling. What Alex had just told him seemed utterly unbelievable.
"Yes, she just disappeared," Alex said. "When we unlocked the Spark Energy within her, she simply vanished..." He chuckled as he said this, though the memory made him tremble. The moment Aurelia noticed the stars around her, the ground cracked open, the sky brightened, and Alex looked up. In that instant, he felt as though the world itself was pressing down on him. The energy pouring from that hole in the sky was almost too much to bear, nearly crushing him under its immense power. He couldn't move for a while, paralyzed by the intensity of it. Aurelia seemed bewildered for a moment—then she disappeared.
After that, Alex decided never to speak of it again. He hadn't known what he was witnessing back then, but he did know one thing—he didn't want to be noticed by whatever it was.
