"AAGGHHGGHH!!!" Alex dashed away.
Alza barked, "SHOOT!!!" His command was followed by a barrage of arrows that tore through the air, targeting Alex.
"AGHHGHHG!!!" Alex barely evaded the rain of arrows, weaving through them as he sped forward.
"If I can get close to the Greeks' forces, they'll think it's a full-scale attack from Troy. With Greek siege tactics, I might be able to slip away." Alex quickly formulated a plan and pushed ahead.
"KILLLLLLLL!!!" Arrows continued to fly from the walls, and Alex edged closer.
"What are they doing???!!!" Greek soldiers turned to see the commotion.
"ATTACK!!! FORM THE DEFENSIVE SIEGE!!!" they ordered, scrambling to their positions.
Alex chuckled, but...
PZsssssTTT...
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHGGHGHGHGHH!!!" An arrow pierced through his foot.
Alex fell, but the chaos around him meant no one paid him much attention as they focused on forming their defensive positions.
"SHOOOOOOOOOOT!!!" Alza was relentless, commanding the soldiers to finish off Alex.
"This mission..." Alex sighed, accepting the difficulty. Even for an experienced soldier like him, being in another world made this mission exceptionally challenging. Just maintaining his composure was an achievement.
But...
"Wait... what's this..." Alex closed his eyes and raised his hand. Time seemed to halt, and he saw red dots all around.
"Like a magnet... I can... attract them..." He struggled but, once he gathered the dots...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A massive fireball erupted from his hand, incinerating the arrows and scorching the nearby walls.
"WHAT?!" Alza and the surrounding soldiers were stunned.
"SHIT!!! DEAL WITH THE MAGOS!!!" The Greeks realized their mistake and hurriedly rallied around Alex, lifting him up.
"Are you alright, Mr. Magos? Please forgive us, we didn't recognize you since you were wearing enemy armor..." a Greek captain said.
"It's alright..." Alex accepted their help, heading toward the camp with a satisfied grin.
"(YESSS!!! FINALLY, THIS WAS SO FUCKING EASY. I JUST NEED TO RELEASE SOME KIND OF MAGNETIC ENERGY FROM MY HAND AND THE RED DOTS COME CLOSER TO ME...)" He was thrilled to have discovered this ability on his own.
As Alex approached the camp, he inquired, "Where is Prince Hector?"
"Prince Hector is at the south gate of the city. He must be leading the defense against our Pontus Axenus sea fleet," a soldier informed him.
"(That must be the Black Sea. We're in the northern part of the city, not too far. Perfect.)" Alex smiled and entered the camp.
The maidens treated his wound.
"If I want to kill Hector, I need to get through a few thousand people. Luckily, I'm in the northern border. If I were at the western border, I'd need to navigate around the sides. Now, if I head straight south, I'll reach the south gate." Alex formulated his plan.
He glanced westward, where ships were engaged in battle. He intended to use a tactic he learned in the army.
--
Ships clashed on the water, firing arrows at one another. Cannons hadn't been invented yet, so they fought using ramming tactics.
The largest ship was stationed behind the battle. On its deck stood a massive figure with black hair and eyes, nearly 2.5 meters tall, observing the combat.
"Sir, the southern fleet faces significant issues. Our forces are greatly outnumbered by Homer's army. If they succeed, they'll reach the shore and flank our city," a big man in armor reported.
"Hmmm... Alright, send 30 ships to support the south," the giant said.
"But, Sir Diomedes, if we—" The soldier was cut off.
"Sea battles are secondary to land power. If we lose control of the land, we'll lose our advantage over Troy. From the four sides, we're attacking; they'll strengthen their defenses if we're pushed back. Now, go," Diomedes ordered, continuing to observe the battle.
~~
"AAAGHGHHG!!!" A soldier fell from his horse.
Alex had ridden the horse with efficiency.
~~
[Congratulations, you defeated a Trojan soldier.
You have been rewarded with 3 Spirit Stones.]
~~
"I wonder what these Spirit Stones are for," Alex mused as he sped toward the south.
"I can't seem to gather enough energy; is there a cooldown?" He carefully maneuvered around the main conflict zones and finally reached the shore.
He observed the Trojan ships, which were primitive compared to the Greeks'. He used the same tactic to infiltrate the Trojan camp.
"GO GO!!! TAKE THE SHIPS!!!"
"DAMNIT!!! WE HAVE TOO MANY SHIPS TO MANAGE!!!"
"WE NEED TO PULL SOME BACK!!! THEY'RE USING OUR CLUSTERED FORMATIONS TO DESTROY OUR SHIPS!!!"
Trojan warriors were in disarray. The Greeks had overwhelming sea dominance, and their fleet was the best in the world.
Alex approached the ships, noticing they were connected by ropes.
Clang...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The waves caused chaos, and ships collided, breaking apart. Alex boarded one of the ships, examined the controls, and found he could operate the wheel. ancient ships weren't as advanced as new ones but they still needed quite high amount of knowledge to be sailed, Alex didn't have this knowledge, but when he was in the army once, his friend told him a little trick, if he was stuck on a ship that he could not operate, one thing he needed to do is to turn the wheel left and right, with that he would be able to see if the ship was active, and if he was lucky it would be, Alex took this lesson and used it here, and here it was even more impressive, since wind was also helping Alex to go where he wanted.
He took the ship and smiled, looks like he was lucky and he could use this ship as he noticed once he turned the wheel it moved, this didn't need help from slaves to sail, now only one thing was left that he needed to acomplish, defeat Hector in this war.
"I don't know much about the controls, but this will do," Alex said, turning the wheel and steering the ship toward the southern border, unnoticed amidst the turmoil.
As he reached the southern side of the war, he saw Hector. Although Alex couldn't see him clearly, he knew he had found his target.
"What... the fuck?" Alex's face contorted with shock.
