Chapter Six

Alex sat at a large, ornate table, his eyes darting around suspiciously. The room was filled with people engaged in lively conversation and laughter. Some wore traditional Old Greek clothing, while others were dressed in aristocratic attire. At the ends of the table, two enormous chairs stood out. One was richly decorated with gold and intricate carvings of Greek gods, while the other was a simple wooden seat.

Looking down at the lavish meal before him, Alex coughed uneasily.

"How… did I get here…" he muttered under his breath.

"Smile, Alex, it's a celebration!" Pericles, sitting nearby, chuckled and took a deep drink of his wine.

"Why are we celebrating?" Alex asked, still confused.

"Huh? We survived, of course…" Pericles answered casually.
