I shake my head. "She didn't want to be taken like that. She was just angry, and teenagers--human teenagers--don't always have the best judgment when they're emotional."
Umnana concedes the point. "So I gathered. Her father is not such a good man, I gather. Who with any sense makes a deal with Marduk?"
Relieved that Marduk doesn't seem to have a big djinn fan base, I say, "Her mother is a Lamia--current residence is Elysian Fields, also the Wendigo."
Umnana's eyes darken, and little fireworks pop around her, like fiery flowers. "Her father killed a Lamia? A mythical creature? Horrendous."
