Kryptosia and I watch Tina in the sphere in the conference room. Much easier than trying to slip in and possibly scaring Tina so she runs away again.
"You've truly done it this time," Kryptosia observes. "A human teenager gets chased by the Mothman, who's lurking around your property. And Daji's idea of fixing the situation is to try to run the human off the road, driving her, literally, into your safe haven."
"Well, it wasn't exactly like that."
Kryptosia almost moves her face. "Oh? How was it, then?"
"Daji just wanted to get her to drive in the other direction, away from the inn, figuring that the Mothman wouldn't chase her."
Kryptosia steeples her hands together. "And why did she think that would work?"
"You had to be there! It was a split second decision. There wasn't a lot of time to come up with a foolproof plan," I argue. "We did the best we could."
"With a houseful of gods, that was the best you could do?"
