Hades and Persephone glance at each other before looking at me and Daji.
Persephone says softly, "Some of it matches with the myths you've been raised on, like Hades grabbing me and the Earth swallowing me up, but that isn't the whole story."
I lean forward. "Do you ever want to correct the whole story?"
Hades shrugs. "The ancient Greeks had their reasons for telling the story that way. And I've read some of your human romantic fiction over the years. The idea of women being desired by a dark and mysterious, and VERY misunderstood stranger--"
"It's a trope," I agree. "And, of course, like drama, that comes from Greek."
Hades laughs. It's a warm sound now that he feels understood.
Everyone thinks Hades must be evil. The whole link with purgatory doesn't help. His dark and brooding appearance adds to the mystique. He'd make a killer Batman, though. People love Batman despite the dark and somber demeanor.
