Tina is a pale marble statue, staring at me, processing my words.
At first, I think I've silenced this snarky, spunky girl. Daji shoots me a reassuring look, and subtly nods at Tina to answer me.
After a long exhale, Tina says, "Gimme my phone, please."
Spoken like a true teenage girl. I hand her the phone, and she presses a few keys, then says, "Done. He doesn't know where I've gone."
I look at Pius. "Can we take her out of here and get her something to eat?"
Tina's stomach growls. "Yes, please, I remember you promising food of some kind."
Pius grins. "I don't see why not. Food is just what I'd prescribe, and then rest." He sees tina yawning and nods knowingly. "But I want to see you back here tomorrow, young woman. I'd like to take a look at your leg. And you need some physical therapy. What do you like to do?"
