Tina doesn't shrink from Kryptosia, even though my mother is giving me a reproachful Mom look to do something to protect this girl.
"I haven't done anything wrong," Tina says indignantly. "At least not that I know. I haven't broken any normal state or federal laws. You can't blame me for not knowing magical law when I grew up with Muggles."
Kryptosia doesn't blink. "So, you're saying that you, like Harry Potter, are magical?"
"I don't know," Tina says honestly. "But you can't arrest me for accidentally driving my car onto the inn's lawn. I was trying to avoid what I thought was an ordinary fox in the road after the Mothman chased me out of nowhere."
"And Daji and I take full responsibility for her being here," I declare. "As the owners of this place and responsible adults who do know magical law."
