The fight between kloxy and his opponent had come to an end, bray sighed in relief as he took a step back to head out and study his surroundings, but everything don't always go exactly how we plan it does it?
At this moment bray felt a slight wave of heat pass over him, the naturally slightly cold temperature he felt changed to slightly hot for some fleeting seconds, along with the slight change in temperature came a form of weakness which bray hadnt felt in a long time.
This weakness caused him to want to drop to his knees, he felt tired as though he wanted to sleep. Inwardly, though, it was like a part of him had been taking away, at the same moment a system notification popped up.
[You have been hit with a mana drain wave causing you to lose all your remaining mana. The ability currently in use will now fade away!]
What the heck? What happened? Bray didn't want to ponder on these thoughts as he knew that there was a new pressing matter at hand, his location had been revealed, without waiting for the others to fully discover who he was, he turned around and took to his heels.
Someone subconciously glanced at the shadowy sihoulette that had just been revealed causing him to squint his eyes, it wasn't jsut himthat saw it as two other guards saw a figure lead out from the wall before rushing out.
"What? Who is that?" one of then cried in shock, all the guards glanced at him before turning to the location he was pointing, there they saw a human-like figure running away, without wasting any time most of then chased after bray.
One of the guards that seem to be at a higher level of authority spoke up as they all felt the mana drain, "it seems a world beasts have once again attacked this planet causing the formation to be activated, because of this the formation need to take some mana from each and everyone of us."
"I believe all of us felt the wave of mana drain, let's not thing too much about it and head out to support them, the rest of you that are weaker, i want to see to it that that spy is captured, someone was spying on us right under our nose and we didn't discover it in time, i want that spy alive!"
Immediately after giving his orders the guard vanished along with a few others. The remaining guards gave a chase in the direction that bray ran.
Bray didn't know that the cause of the mana drain was because a world beast had suddenly attacked the planet, this was something that was common, basically, some world beast like to devour planets, mostly the life force on such planets, as such it was completely normal for them to attack a planet filled with lifeforce such as this one.
The formation set in place to protect such could block the attacks of the beasts on it own but when the mana it runs on is drained, it sends out a wave automatically, and absorbs the mana of everyone on the planet, the weaker ones would have all their mana drained, like bray, while some of the stronger awakeners would only lose half of their mana or lower.
Bray continued to run without looking back as his heart continued to palpitate, he knew that it was a bad idea to head out but he thought he was prepared enough, besides, who would have thought that a world beast would suddenly attack causing there to be a mana drain wave?
I wonder who attacked me? Bray believed that the mana drain wave must have been an attack sent out by someone who noticed him, besides he didn't have the luxury of time to ask the system, he was just too nervous, many thoughts were running through his mind that he had even forgotten about the time pause feature of the system.
As he continued running, he could hear rushed footsteps resounding from a few meters back, if it wasn't for the eerie red light from the moons that caused a shadow to be cast over him, he was sure that he would have been caught a while ago.
I need to find a secure place to hide, a place where they cant catch me! Bray's thoughts moved as his eyes ran through each building he came accross, he couldn't enter most, because the area he was at was somewhere, he guessed, that there might be guards around, after it was the diner, where some of them usually came to have fun.
"Ive caught sight of him," a voice suddenly rang out from behind, it was a guard that had seen the shadow of bray, at this moment he was speaking into his watch, informing the other guards about the fact that he had seen bray's figure.
Bray noticed this and took a turn to his right, inbetween two buildings, he suddenly stopped because there were two guards coming from that direction, he ran out of there without hesitation and took another turn to the left, at this momnet bray was sure he was quite a distance away from his cell, i wonder if i will be able to get there, i cant be caught! Who knows what they will do to me?
Unfortunately life was extremely cruel, towards his left, there were another three guards coming, it seemed as though he had been circled, causing him to only head in a singular direction, forward. I wonder how they see to know my exact location.
Bray was puxxled by this, what he didn't guess was that the guards were actively sending texts about his location to each other, it was exactly because of this that they were able to easily encircle him. Bray rushed forward ignoring the sound that came from behind him, his left and right as well, at this moment he was already prepared, if i cant escape, i will have to fight! His mind moved and he was prepared to call the eternal heavy swords when at this moment…
