The whole room shook as he uttered those words the, weight and implications of such a phrase coming out of a Guardian's mouth was enough to put everyone at unease.
There were four people accompanying Raizo including Kei's Gramps, there was a young lady with shades on she wore a formal light vest, a petite knight in a suit of black armor, and a beautiful lady in a hakama carrying two katana's.
Raizo gestured at one of the person accompanying him to come forward, the petite knight stepped forward and put his had up towards the table, the next moment an intricate projection of Lilburn and its surrounding came to life.
"We have discovered a horror class creature in a red zone east of Liburn"
The people present there faces showed a range of emotions—some appear contemplative, others concerned. The room was filled with a low hum of whispers, there was a palpable tension in the air as people processed the Guardian's words, weighing the implications of his words.
"How is that possible? Not a single horror-class creature should have emerged in a red zone, even in a black zone it is a rare to see one" The Sentinel, seated among the twelve, voiced his concern. He was one of the seasoned hunters who had endured the aftermath of the cataclysm fifty years prior.
"Mr. Abram, I understand your concerns, but the appearance of a horror-class creature in a red zone is improbable, not impossible. Especially considering that the behavior of the gates has been irregular for some time now. I've been noticing fluctuations in the mana readings of the gates," Rani from the Gate Radar Team (GRT) explained.
"So, what are we supposed to do? Even with the number of Sentinels we have, it won't be enough to confront a horror-class creature," one of the Sentinels asked.
"We should prepare for the evacuation of the citizens," another suggested.
"Evacuation? All of our assets are in Liburn, and now you want us to abandon them?" protested a third Sentinel.
"Can we even evacuate? Judging by the trajectory and speed of the creature, it seems improbable," another chimed in.
"Why are you all so scared? We've been fighting creatures our entire lives—how is this any different?" someone else argued.
As more statements filled the air, it became clear that the room was divided on what decision to make.
"SILENCE!" Raizo commanded, his aura intensifying to suppress the noise in the room. "I don't think anyone here fully understands the gravity of this predicament. Let me reiterate: Liburn is in danger." A heavy atmosphere settled over the room as his words sank in.
"There's a reason horror-class creatures are referred to as mini calamities. You are no match for such a being, and given the unique composition of this creature — a large body of water — I'm afraid I'm not either," Raizo proclaimed.
"I have requested the assistance of another Guardian who specializes in dealing with such creatures, but i believe we still have to prepare for evacuation, as the city he is in charge of is fairly far away"
"If we don't a lot of people are going to die"
'What is happening, this can't be happening right?, ah my head hurts' Kei couldn't believe what he was witnessing, he has been living in Liburn his whole life here, he grew up here. The thought that all of it might disappear was overwhelming, and he struggled to process his emotions.
"With that out of the way, let's discuss how we can confront this horror," Raizo declared, his voice steady but laced with urgency. As the petite knight flicked his hand, a chilling projection materialized on the table, casting an eerie glow across the room.
The image depicted an unnaturally still lake, its surface smooth and glassy, resembling a vast mirror that reflected the sunlight in a blinding glare. The lake stretched out for a few hundred meters, but what was most unsettling was it was devoid of nature—completely lifeless. No vegetation swayed along the banks, no fish broke the surface; it was as if the very essence of life had been sucked away.
"We are not just facing a creature," Raizo continued, his tone grave. "This lake is a graveyard, a void where nothing survives, and it serves as the sanctuary for the horror we must confront"
"While observing it we saw many creatures approaching the lake, only to vanish without a trace. The aura permeating from the lake itself is sickening"
He paused, allowing the weight of his words to settle in the room. "I'm still uncertain whether a horror lurks beneath the surface or if the lake itself is the true monster."
"What matters now, is that it is headed this way. In just a few days, it will make contact with our walls. If we are fortunate, it might take a couple of days more to reach us, but we cannot afford to underestimate its speed or power."
The tension in the room thickened, each person acutely aware that time was slipping away, and with it, the last remnants of their safety.
"We need to prepare the citizens for evacuation immediately. This horror is not coming alone; it will attract many more creatures in its wake."
His eyes swept across the gathered Sentinels, their expressions a mix of fear and determination. "I want everyone to rally their teams and secure a clear escape route. We cannot afford to be trapped when the time comes. We must ensure that every citizen knows where to go and how to get there safely."
Raizo's voice rose, filled with conviction. "I am the Guardian of Liburn, no matter what calamity we face, I will stand resolute for our people, Liburn will not fall—not on my watch"
