Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Menace Strikes Back

"You dare hit my children!?"

"Huh…!?"

And all of a sudden, the night that was already filled with noise screamed even louder as everyone just stood there in confusion. Hawk and the rest of the team who were still alive, and even those who were bleeding to death on the ground reacted to Lucian's words.

But perhaps the ones who reacted the loudest were Rosa and Adelfred. Well, mostly Rosa as she could not help but just stare at Lucian.

Since… when did they become his children? And wasn't it the other way around?

Sure, Lucian protects them from the monsters, but it was also Lucian in the first place who created the problems. But of course, it wasn't really the right time to be thinking about all of this as they were currently surrounded by Murcans…

…defenseless Murcans without any weapons.

"!!!" With that realization, Rosa quickly grabbed the wand from the ground that Lucian slapped earlier to prevent the Murcans from finding out she was a mage — and without any hesitation, she started casting and summoning a fireball at the tip of her wand, pointing it at everyone.

"Good job, My ugly mutated daughter."

"I'm not your daughter!" Rosa rolled her eyes as she pointed the wand at one of the Murcans that tried to rush toward her while she wasn't looking, "I swear, I will burn you if you move!"

"You heard her," Lucian crossed his arms as he started slithering toward Rosa. But as soon as he noticed Hawk looking at the rifles he threw to the side, his tendrils quickly extended — swinging one of his blades right in front of Hawk's feet, just an inch away from slicing off his toes. And then, very slowly, the blades lifted up until they were right on Hawk's neck.

"Tch…" The only thing that Hawk could really do was raise his hands while looking at Lucian, who was at least 4 meters away and yet his hair could extend that long — just… what sort of creature is it? He thought.

"Now, now, Americans—I mean, Murcans…" Lucian then cleared his throat as he gestured with his little hand for the Murcans to line up, "...Those who can still walk, please line up here."

Hawk and his men did not really move at all and just looked at each other.

"Oh…?" Lucian, however, did not have the patience for this at all as his blades just swung in the air went flailed straight toward one of the men who were already on the ground — stabbing his torso multiple times in less than a second,

"If none of you still got it — I wasn't asking, I am ordering you to line up here, in front of me."

"Damn it!" Hawk could really only curse his fate as he stood up and walked to where Lucian was pointing, and as he did so, the remaining four followed suit. It was really hard to see what they were feeling right now since they were completely covered in their tactical armor… but it was obvious to Rosa and Adelfred that these men were afraid just from their steps alone.

Well, they couldn't blame them. Rosa still remembers how she met Lucian days ago, and she remembered thinking she was in front of a god. Unfortunately for these men, they weren't meeting the version that she met at all.

"Hm… now, what to do with all of you, hm?"

Hawk and his men could really only look down because, well… Lucian was incredibly tiny. And the only thing they could really do was watch as he started slithering back and forth while waving his two blades in the air.

"Kh…" One of the men slightly shivered as Lucian just brushed one of the blades across his shin; he did not cut it, but the fact that Lucian actually could caused the man to almost lose the strength in his legs there and then.

"Well, well, well…" Lucian then let out a long and very deep sigh as he finally stopped slithering around; his body just leaning back as he looked at each of their faces one by one before settling on Hawk, "...You're clearly the leader of this puny strike force. Am I right?"

"..." Hawk did not answer at all even as Lucian pointed the blade at him. His eyes, however, just turned wide as the blade just pointed at the man next to him, and without even any hesitation… Lucian swung the blade upward…

…cutting his comrade vertically with ease there and then.

Both Hawk and the man next to the one that was cut could really only just stand there as the two halves of their comrade fell to their arms and then ultimately sliding down to their feet; the blood, extremely warm as it started spraying everywhere.

"I am going to ask again," Lucian then just casually pointed the blade at Hawk again, "Am I right?"

"...Yes," Hawk could really only answer and nod his head.

"Huh…?" Lucian, however, just let out a loud breath as his blade suddenly shot to the side of Hawk's neck, "I wasn't talking to you…

…but the one speaking into your ear."

[Hawk, hand the comms to the TFK.]

"..." Hawk quickly followed the General's orders as she spoke in his ear, carefully raising both of his hands before pulling the earpiece out and then just slowly crouching and placing it on the ground in front of Lucian.

He couldn't actually believe the situation he was in right now — he thought he was here to eliminate a young Kaiju, an infant…

…but what the fuck was this?

Lucian then grabbed the earpiece with both of his tiny arms, patting and wiping it clean before placing it next to his face,

"Speak, Mongrel," Lucian slightly cleared his throat, "To whom am I speaking?"

[...My name is Jane Smith and—]

"And my name is John Smith," Lucian did not let the General finish her words as his blades once again swung toward Hawk; this time slightly ripping his neck guard,

"Let's not play games here — Who are you, and how did you know where to find me?"

[My name is Annie Olsen, and I am the General of the Murcana External Kaiju Corps.]

"Oh? So, I am talking to someone important?" Lucian's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Rosa and Adelfred, who just shrugged their shoulders in response, "And this Murcana External Juju Force — what exactly do you do?"

[Mur…cana External Kaiju Corps,] General Annie cleared her throat, [And we hunt and eliminate Kaijus outside the Murcana territory that could be deemed dangerous.]

"...And what does that have to do with me?"

[You are a Kaiju.]

"Do I look like a fucking giant to you?" Lucian seemed incredibly disgusted at General Annie's words.

[Yes,] General Annie answered without any hesitation, [If kept alive, you will leave behind a trace that would trample and topple entire cities — and the most dangerous fact is that you are… sentient, intelligence rivaling that of humans.]

"Psh, stop it," Lucian rolled his lips and scoffed before letting out a tiny chuckle, "You haven't even seen me with a brain yet. Anyway…

…you still haven't told me how you found me."

[...Spare my men and I will tell you.]

"Well, or how about this…" The tone of Lucian's voice then suddenly turned cold as he looked at the camera attached to Hawk's chest,

"...I torture them and they could tell me themselves."
