The quiet was broken by the sound of footsteps behind him. He turned, seeing Ava approaching with her usual confident stride.
"What are you doing out here?" she asked softly but in a curious tone.
"Nothing," Adrian replied, offering a faint smile.
Ava tilted her head, her eyes gleaming mischievously. "Well, I have something for you," she said, her grin widening.
Adrian tilted his head, a hint of curiosity crossing his features as he regarded Ava. "What is it?" he asked in a calm voice though he didn't hide the suspicion in it.
Ava's grin widened, a playful glint flashing in her eyes. "Close your eyes and stretch out your hand," she said in her usual teasing tone.
Adrian raised an eyebrow, his expression turning skeptical. "Is that really necessary?"
