"If you two are so eager to fight," Medea said in her usual flat, dispassionate tone, "why don't you do it properly?"
Lilith shot Medea a glance, her smile never faltering. "Oh, Medea, always the peacemaker," she teased. "But no, Abyss and I were just having a friendly chat."
Medea snorted. "Friendly chat or not, if you're going to fight, at least make it worth watching."
Abyss let out an irritated sigh and turned her gaze back to Adrian, her voice softer now but no less possessive. "You promised," she repeated, almost like a demand, her fingers curling into the fabric of his sleeve. "You're mine, remember?"
Adrian placed a hand gently on her arm, giving her a reassuring nod. "I haven't forgotten. I'm here now, Abyss."
She studied his face for a moment before exhaling slowly.
"Looks like you've got your hands full, husband," Lilith said, leaning in close and watching with her typical amusement.
