"You called me sister…" the girl in his grasp spoke calmly as he pulled her away, rushing into the halls he had commanded his slaves to stay away from. These halls led to the underground of a castle, an area he wanted to explore himself. Well, until this situation… "You don't recall a thing?"
He ignored her. He had no time to waste with someone who acted deaf. His gaze roamed the hall, searching for a chance. Requiem had time for one thing though, and it was a question. A question he should have forced an answer instead of faking diplomatic.
"You will tell me what is going on here…" he asked, turning around as the monster charged forth at a steady pace. He released the young girl, throwing her to the ground beside him, "I will give you a dagger, and you will kill that monster with the dagger and return it to me."
⦗Blessing Active!⦘
"I will tell you what I want to tell you! Don't think you can— shit!" she resisted for a moment and Requiem felt his heart skip a beat, then he watched as she received the dagger and turned to fight, "I will only do this because you might be very confused." His heart skipped another beat.
She resisted the blessing! She had taken his dagger — out of her own free will — and refused to share any information with him. He wondered what was wrong, he could not remember anything on the limitations of his blessing. He had thought it to be limitless but here it was, a limit to the power!
Her aura shifted as she took a stance, the illusion avatar of a purple skinned beauty appearing behind her as she lowered her upper body. Before he could react, she dashed, transforming from a human into a bolt of light. Yes, she literally became a bolt of light that moved across the halls.
The centaur swung its axe as she reverted, but it was outclassed. She nimbly weaved through its attack, swinging Requiem's dagger and stabbing it into the centaur's guts. A bloody bile spilled as the dagger was dragged out, and the beast turned enraged.
It swung its axe fiercely but she leaped back, dodging the massive swing as the beast glared upon her like a predator on prey. It charged forth as she retreated from its sweeping cleaves, aiming for an extreme bashing attack while she was occupied.
She appeared by its side as it charged past, coming to a halt feet away. It turned around to fight, a vinous gleam in its eyes as it tightened its grip around its weapon. It drew its feet across the floor, then roared, charging forward with all its might with a gleam in its eyes.
When she dodged this time, it swung its axe to cleave her in half, but she lifted her dagger and a collision of blades occurred. The floor cracked up beneath them and exploded, but as she pressed on against the beast, it found its getting weaker all of a sudden.
⦗Poison Effect!⦘ no one could see this screen except for Requiem. He wondered why he saw this even though he was not the one who wielded the blade. He read through the contents and it looked like the effects of a very potent poison, granting ⦗Speed -50%⦘ and ⦗Endurance -30%⦘!
The centaur watched as she slipped beneath it, crisscross slashing her away under his legs. The centaur roared in pain as it collapsed to the ground, all its legs wounded. The poison effects stacked up to its maximum cap of three times, and after that the centaur was rendered immobile.
"My name is Margaret." She turned around to face Requiem who wore a cold expression on his face staring back at her. She spread out her hands and the purple skinned beauty from earlier took form behind her, reaching out in a trail of purple fog until she hovered before Requiem.
"My name is Yver, an avatar." The purple skinned beauty looked so similar to the young girl, but was older and hopefully more mature. She reached her hand and grabbed for Requiem's chest, and he staggered back, his eyes widening, "We had caught sight of Jormungandr's tail…"
Margaret stepped forward, "The Aesir are troubled. He has not risen, but his movement sends a strong message. The gods — aesir and vanir — are preparing for the end of the world. She asked to gather the slaves and I obeyed. There is no questioning superiority."
Requiem cared for none of that! He reached for his chest, narrowing his eyes.
"Be assured I won't crush it where you stand. That is if you fail to answer my questions." From a smile so bright and alluring, her face shifted to something no short of feral. She edged closer, inches away from the silent Requiem, lifted her hand to hold his chin, "Such beautiful eyes…"
"Tell me, Yver." He stared back into her eyes, his expression shifting from shock to calm. Her eyes widened as he reached a hand and grabbed her face. He was so bold, forgetting she held his heart in her hands! Requiem inched closer, "Are you really sure you want to kill me?"
This child! Just because you were blessed with this strange blessing does not mean that you are strong enough to walk among gods! I will show you your place — you foolish boy. She sneered then tried to tighten her grip on his heart. A moment passed, then her expression changed.
Requiem walked past Yver, moving until he stopped before a confused Margaret, "Kindly give me my blade, Margaret." His voice was calm and relaxed and as he reached out his hand, Margaret gave him the dagger. He turned around to the frozen Yver, "I was afraid for nothing it seems."
⦗Enslaved a Divine Avatar!⦘
He laughed within himself. This was such a beautiful game. He had attempted to enslave what he had thought equal a piece of limestone, but had found a diamond behind it. Enslaving a divinity this early into the game was such a wonderful feat. He laughed heartily. No wonder.
