The first trial had been satisfying, but it left me wanting more. The creatures had been tough, but they weren't quite enough to push me to my limits. It felt like I was warming up, a mere scratch on the surface of what lay ahead.
I turned my gaze back to the entrance of the arena, my eyes narrowing as I considered my next move. The trials had multiple levels of difficulty, each named to honor the legends of the Gilgamesh era. I hadn't fully explored the higher difficulties yet, but if the rewards I had just gathered from the easiest trial were any indication, the next tier would be far more challenging—and far more rewarding.
The sign by the entrance listed the five difficulty levels:
