Chapter 13 - Back To College (1)

Early morning...

Tobias opened his eyes and yawned. He didn't sleep much last night as he was too busy learning about his past life. Although his eyes felt heavy, he snapped them right open when a notification popped up in front of him.

[There's a claimable reward waiting for you.]

"Right... I completely forgot about it," Tobias yawned, clicking the claim icon.

The revelation of Sophia and Clara being his step-family had hit him so hard that he had completely forgotten about claiming his rewards.

[Lust essence limit has been increased!]

[100 --> 150 points] (Author's note: LE changed from % to points.)

Tobias didn't feel like anything had changed and opened his stats to check if his LE limit had increased, which it had.

"Huh... this will help me a lot."

During his fight with the moneylenders, he experienced the greatest drawback of his powers. All of his skills were directly or indirectly dependent on LE.

Not only that, their consumption varied, so he had to keep all that in mind as well. But with a higher LE limit, he could abuse his skills more frequently without worrying about recharging it.

"That doesn't mean I don't need to have sex," Tobias mumbled, getting off the bed. "Hell, I only have 28 lust essence now. Isn't there any other way... wait, I completely forgot about it!"

Hastily opening his stats window, Tobias realized he had some Seduction points that he could use to upgrade his skills. Maybe, he'd be able to reduce the skill costs with those points.

"Alluring touch and Incubus Madness are the skills I use the most, so let's upgrade these first."

[Use 3 SP to upgrade Alluring Touch to level 3?]

"Yes."

[Skill upgraded!]

[Skill cost 5 --> 4]

[Remaining SP: 17]

[Use 3 SP to upgrade Incubus Madness to level 3?]

"Yes."

[Skill upgraded!]

[Skill cost 15 --> 12]

[Remaining SP: 14]

[New branch skill unlocked!]

"Huh... interesting. Maybe I should try it on someone else... preferably a human or something alive," Tobias mumbled, getting ready for college.

He had read in his diary that Tobias hadn't been going to college for a while, although the old him didn't mention any reason for it. But that wasn't the reason he wanted to go there.

Tobias still knew nothing about the weird world he was stuck in with kitsunes, demonic humans, and vampires. He wanted to learn about the world before he unknowingly got into a mess, and what better place to learn about things than a library?

"Alright... let's get going."

As usual, Sophia was busy in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for the kids. The aroma of freshly made coffee filled the house as she was busy preparing a toast for Tobias.

A moment later, she heard the stairs creak and looked up, surprised to see Tobias walking down in his uniform. It had been nearly a year since she had seen him wear that uniform. But instead of being happy, she looked worried.

"Tobias?" she called out. "You're... going to college today?"

"Uh... yeah, why?"

"It's nothing," Sophia smiled. "Come, sit down and have some breakfast."

Tobias was about to agree when he remembered what had happened the last time he stayed around Sophia. Not wanting his little-me to have another episode of lust, he quickly shook his head.

"I'm not really hungry," he muttered, heading towards the door. "Don't worry, I'll eat something in the campus!"

He was gone before Sophia could ask him about his little trip to college. She couldn't understand why he was pushing himself to go there after what had happened last time. Still, she was happy to see him taking steps forward and not dwelling on the past.

"My boy isn't running away from his problems anymore," Sophia mumbled as a small smile appeared on her face.

However, Clara, who had been sitting at the table, shook her head. She didn't get why Tobias wanted to go back to the college and cause more problems. Wasn't the embarrassment they went through last time bad enough for him?
