Atlan watched as the shadow creatures took Otis away into the darkness. And to make sure that it was a successful escape, the other four Shadow Canzers stayed behind and eyed Atlan with a careful eye. If Atlan tried to rescue Otis, then they would immediately pounce and kill him.
Of course, Atlan had no intention of going after Otis. The Enchanted Queen had already attached herself to Otis without the Shadow Canzers knowing, so he would be able to track them anytime he wanted. That was one of the perks of having a tamed dragon by your side.
But it seemed that the Canzers wanted to make sure that there would be no other complications. They slowly walked towards Atlan, with the intention of silencing him forever.
