Nekomamushi and Inuarashi stared at the full moon in the sky as their bodies began to swell, and all the fur on their bodies turned white. The most obvious change was the way the hair on their heads danced around like a lion's mane.
This was the unique racial talent of the Mink Tribe—the transformation under the moon, known as the Sulong form.
The two who had completed the transformation looked very excited. Their blood-red eyes locked firmly on Carl, who stood opposite them.
With a burst of crackling electricity, the two disappeared instantly. Carl raised his eyebrows, swiped back with Muramasa in hand, and collided with two claws wrapped in electricity.
Nekomamushi and Inuarashi let out a long roar, then waved their claws, and raging electric currents flowed from their claws. However, Carl ignored these currents. Facing the two who had entered the Sulong state, he fought one against two, showing no sign of decline.
Akainu and Borsalino originally wanted to step forward to help, but seeing this situation, they directly turned to attack the already crippled Oden.
The laser and magma attacks came all at once. Oden had not yet fully adapted, so he could only choose to stand his ground and fight back as best he could.
But after all, he was specialized in physical arts. Without Carl, the most formidable opponent, it was much easier for him to handle the battle.
Oden bounced back and forth on one leg in an extremely weird posture. Borsalino and Akainu couldn't land a solid hit on him, and they even had to be wary of his dual swords, both of which were wrapped in Haki.
Meanwhile, the area around Carl had turned into darkness. Although Nekomamushi and Inuarashi in their Sulong forms had extremely high speed, they were tightly restricted by the gravity of darkness. If they weren't careful, they might even be dragged into it.
However, Carl wasn't satisfied with the current situation. A look of impatience appeared on his face. It should be said that his mood had started to sour since the full moon had risen.
Neither Nekomamushi nor Inuarashi noticed that Carl's eyes were emitting a faint red light. Their attacks became more violent, and they let out harsh roars together, unleashing their special moves.
The sword and sharp claws penetrated Carl's body at the same time. Under the strong inertia, the two almost rushed out of the warship.
After standing still, Nekomamushi roared angrily,
"Damn, it's the same as before! We clearly used Haki—why can't we hit him?!"
Inuarashi's nostrils flared as he let out a frustrated snort. He had originally thought that by transforming, he could defeat the most troublesome opponent among the three, but the result was far from what he expected.
Carl's formidable swordsmanship and Haki were already difficult enough to deal with. Coupled with his evil "elementalization," if they continued fighting like this, their situation would become extremely dangerous once the transformation time was up.
But they had to keep fighting, because if someone as powerful as Carl were to be let loose, their lord Oden would likely not be able to escape from the warship.
Another slash of black sword energy struck. Nekomamushi quickly raised his claws to resist, while Inuarashi charged at Carl, slashing with his sword.
Zzzt!
Inuarashi finally struck Carl's body, but there was no trace of joy on his face.
He looked at the blade held in Carl's hand and shouted in disbelief,
"This... how is this possible!?"
Carl slowly exhaled a breath of white air. In Inuarashi's shocked eyes, the nails on Carl's hands turned completely black, taking on a beast-like shape.
When Carl raised his head, what Inuarashi saw were a pair of blood-red eyes. Staring into those eyes, Inuarashi suddenly felt his strength waning, even though the transformation time hadn't ended yet.
He swallowed a mouthful of saliva, his voice trembling,
"You... what did you do?"
Carl said nothing. He raised his head slightly and looked at the full moon in the sky. His eyes filled with red light. A violent current spread along his hand to Inuarashi's body, scorching his fur black in an instant. He collapsed in front of Carl.
Nekomamushi was stunned by this scene. The Minks had a very high resistance to electricity, so he couldn't understand how Inuarashi could be injured like this by it.
Carl didn't even look at the fallen Inuarashi. Bathed in the moonlight, his black hair billowed, and his body emitted a dazzling electric light.
Everyone on the deck couldn't help but turn their eyes toward Carl. Lucia slashed open the obstacle blocking her way and gazed at Carl in disbelief, murmuring,
"Lord..."
Crack!
The electricity in Carl's body became more violent. In the eyes of everyone, his black hair, which had grown to his waist, instantly turned silver, like moonlight. His figure grew taller, and his skin exuded a faint silver glow.
A terrifying stream of Conqueror's Haki, mixed with silver lightning, burst forth from Carl's body, directly blowing away Inuarashi, who had been kneeling in front of him.
Nekomamushi hurriedly reached out to catch him, but was staggered by Inuarashi's body. Only then did he realize that his transformation had been undone at some point, and the Minks, after reverting from Sulong, would fall into a state of weakness.
But he couldn't care less about that now, because there was something even more shocking—Carl had transformed under the full moon like a Mink!
Wasn't this posture the Sulong form?
The only difference was that Carl's body was surrounded by a silver ribbon formed by moonlight, similar to the flame clouds seen after a Zoan Fruit awakens.
Nekomamushi's pupils shrank as he realized something and shouted in disbelief,
"This... this is... the Moon God form?!"
Hearing Nekomamushi's voice, Inuarashi opened his eyes with difficulty. When he saw Carl's transformed state, he froze and murmured,
"That's the legendary Moon God form that only the Mink Royal Family has! How could this be?! He's obviously a human!"
Carl slowly raised his eyes and pointed a finger at Nekomamushi and Inuarashi.
As a feline, Nekomamushi had a heightened sense of danger. Seeing Carl's movement, his fur bristled, and he grabbed Inuarashi, attempting to flee.
However, the moment he turned around, a silver bolt shot out from Carl's fingertips, penetrating Nekomamushi's body from behind.
A look of confusion appeared on Nekomamushi's face. He looked down at the gaping hole in his chest before his eyes turned white, and he collapsed to the ground with a thud.
When Inuarashi realized what had happened, he frantically pushed Nekomamushi's body, calling out his name.
But Nekomamushi could no longer respond—his life had been completely extinguished.
