Chapter 87 - Chapter 87

Lucia gently shook her long hair that was emitting a purple light, and a pair of jet-black wings spread out from behind her, dramatically altering her whole demeanor.

The wings fluttered, and before Gion could react, Lucia had already appeared in front of her, swinging the sword in her hand. Gion hurriedly used Kinpira to block in front of her chest but was still sent flying by the sheer force.

Lucia had already entered her half-beast form, greatly enhancing both her speed and strength.

Gion quickly activated her Armament Haki, suppressing the heat in her body. She turned mid-air, but Lucia had already vanished from the ground.

Swish!

Lucia appeared above Gion like a ghost and teased, "What are you looking at?"

Gion's pupils shrank. She wasn't as agile as Lucia in the air, and it was too late to counterattack. She had to activate her Armament Haki again to shield her vital areas.

Lucia couldn't kill her, she didn't use Kōrō no Hikari. Instead, she swung a punch wrapped in Armament Haki, striking Gion's back heavily.

Gion groaned from the impact and fell rapidly, but she managed to stop herself with the Geppo just before hitting the ground.

Lucia landed gracefully, not paying much attention to Gion. Instead, she turned and smiled charmingly at Carl on the platform.

Carl touched his forehead helplessly as Borsalino approached him. "Carl, your cousin is smiling at you. Why don't you respond?"

"Please, you respond for me. Your smile is the most charming."

"Uh, no thanks. I'm afraid your cousin might rush over and cut me."

Gion, holding her waist, landed and used her Konpira for support.

Lucia turned and asked with a smile, "Do you want to continue?"

Gion took a deep breath and said, "No need, you're definitely stronger than me. If you had used a sword earlier, the fight would have been over much sooner." She then signaled to the referee and left the field.

Lucia released her ability, shot a shy glance at Carl on the high platform, and ran back to the other students with a slightly flushed face.

Ginny, standing by, touched the silver-white pistol at her waist, it was her turn next. Her opponent was Onigumo.

Before entering the stage, Onigumo's hair danced wildly as he grabbed the six swords scattered on the ground, drew two more from his waist, and walked forward with a menacing air.

He was one of the few in the academy who had mastered the Rokushiki.

Amid the cheers of Jessica and the other female students, Ginny patted her proud chest, pulled out two pistols—one gold and one silver—and strutted onto the field with a cat-like elegance.

Facing Ginny, Onigumo tried to suppress his usual fierce expression, forcing a smile to look less intimidating. He wasn't interested in beautiful women, but everyone at the Navy Headquarter Academy knew Ginny was Carl's "woman."

Though Ginny seemed the least threatening among the supernovas, she was one of the most untouchable figures in the academy, second only to Carl.

Ginny glanced back, flashing Carl a dazzling smile. But when she turned to face Onigumo, her demeanor changed entirely to one of intense focus.

Feeling Ginny's gaze, Onigumo instinctively guarded his vulnerabilities, his hair curling protectively around his body.

With both fighters ready, the match began.

Onigumo made the first move, rushing at Ginny and unleashing a barrage of slashes with his Eight Swords Style.

Ginny's petite frame weaved effortlessly through the flurry of swords, narrowly avoiding each blade.

Carl, observing from the high platform, nodded approvingly. Ginny's talent in Observation Haki was exceptional, it was no wonder she could decipher Den Den Mushi signals at the Valley of Gods.

Frustrated by his inability to land a hit, Onigumo's hair split again, transforming into black tentacles attempting to ensnare Ginny.

The sinister technique would've been considered perverse back on Earth, but Ginny wasn't fazed. Disgusted by the oily, unkempt hair, she swiftly holstered her guns, flipped upside down, and executed a spinning kick with her long legs.

A circular shockwave sliced through the air, severing Onigumo's hair. Onigumo tried to block with his swords but was knocked back by the impact.

Seizing the opportunity, Ginny drew her guns and fired several shots, each bullet accurately targeting the tendrils holding Onigumo's swords, knocking them to the ground.

With only two swords left in his hands, Onigumo found himself vulnerable. Ginny narrowed her eyes, infusing her bullets with Armament Haki.

She fired again, and though Onigumo desperately defended with his Haki-coated swords, he couldn't withstand the barrage. Two bullets landed on his abdomen, stopping just short of piercing his skin.

Realizing he was outmatched, Onigumo knelt and conceded the fight, clutching his midsection.

Ginny celebrated by blowing a kiss toward Carl, prompting a wave of cheers and teasing from the crowd. Embarrassed, Ginny covered her face and darted away.

Borsalino cast a playful look at Carl, but Carl simply ignored him.

The exams continued into the afternoon, with two groups advancing: Kumo and Momonga, and Ginny and Lucia.

The finals between Kumo and Lucia were scheduled for the next morning. Once the winner was determined, the exams for Carl and the others would follow in the afternoon.
