Chapter 6: The Lost Soul
Kae knelt beside Lena, their heart racing with fear. They shook her shoulder, but she didn't respond.
"Lena, no!" Kae shouted, their voice echoing off the walls.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was an old woman, her face twisted with age and wisdom.
"Let me help," she said, her voice low and soothing.
Kae hesitated, but the woman's kind eyes put them at ease. She reached out and placed a hand on Lena's forehead.
"The darkness has taken her," the woman said, her voice grave. "But I can help you get her back."
Kae nodded, desperation creeping in.
"Please," they said, their voice barely above a whisper.
The woman nodded and began to chant, her voice weaving a spell of light and hope. Kae watched, mesmerized, as a warm glow enveloped Lena's body.
Slowly, Lena's eyes flickered open. She looked up at Kae, confusion etched on her face.
"Kae?" she whispered.
Kae smiled, relief washing over them.
"Lena," they said, their voice trembling.
The old woman smiled, her eyes twinkling.
"She's back, but the darkness has left its mark," she said, her voice warning. "You must be careful."
Kae nodded, determination burning within them.
"We will," they said, their voice firm.
The woman nodded, a small smile playing on her lips.
"I think you will," she said, before vanishing into the shadows.
Kae turned to Lena, their eyes locking in a fierce gaze.
"We have to get out of here," Kae said, their voice low and urgent.
Lena nodded, her eyes still cloudy from the darkness.
As they stumbled through the winding corridors, Kae couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. They knew Digon was still out there, waiting for his chance to strike
With Lena by their side, Kae felt a sense of hope they hadn't felt in hours. They knew they still had a long way to go, but they were ready for whatever lay ahead.
As they approached the inner sanctum, the air grew thick with an eerie energy. Kae could feel Digon's presence, his dark power pulsing like a living thing.
But Kae wasn't afraid. They had Lena by their side, and together, they were unstoppable.
"Let's do this," Kae said, their voice firm.
Lena nodded, her eyes blazing with determination.
Together, they burst into the inner sanctum, ready to face Digon once and for all.
The room was dark, lit only by flickering candles. Digon stood at the far end, his eyes glowing with malevolent intent.
"Welcome, Kae," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I've been waiting for you."
Kae smiled, their heart pounding in their chest.
"We're not going to let you win," they said, their voice firm.
Digon laughed, the sound echoing off the walls.
"We'll see about that," he said, before raising his hand.
A blast of dark energy shot towards Kae, but they were ready. They raised their own hand, and a shield of light erupted, deflecting the attack.
Lena joined the fight, her own powers bursting forth in a blaze of light and energy. Together, they pushed back against Digon's darkness, determined to save the city from his evil grasp.
The battle raged on, the two sides clashing in a spectacular display of light and darkness. Kae knew they couldn't keep this up for much longer, but they refused to give up.
They were going to save the city, no matter what it took
