Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: "Where it all Started"

Arc 1: The Beginning

"Hmm, it seems the game store didn't have the game I wanted. Guess I will have to come back next time....."

Were the words I said before I realized that those were going to be my last. I was just walking through the road back to my house when someone came running at me and stabbed me in the guts.

The man ran at me before I even realized what was happening, I felt a sharp pain at my stomach, which was the last thing I felt before collapsing to the ground.

I thought, "Why did I have to die now, I still haven't done everything I wanted to do...."

It wasn't as if my life was totally empty, I was a normal high school student and I had friends who I hang out with. I live in my parents house and I play video games and write novels when I have time. But still, why now. Why couldn't I have died after I got a girlfriend or graduated.

And everything went black....

==Scene Change==

[Mysterious Voice: Hmm, this child... He shall be blessed...]

...

When I woke up I couldn't feel a thing, my eyes wouldn't open, and everything felt so distant. I heard a child crying and a woman trying to comfort them. It sounded as if she was speaking to me. Where am I. What is this place. I don't know.

Eventually I managed to open my eyes just a bit to see a Woman carrying me and a Man next to her, I can't see what they look like exactly but.... Why am I being carried by this woman? What's going on here?

"Hey, looks like he stopped crying", says the man

"He must have been hungry after all", replied the woman

"That must've been it"

Both of them seem to be talking to each other about something, I can't exactly hear the conversation, but I can hear some.

"I think it's about time but, what should we name him, dear?", she said

"I'm not sure, how about Vance, or Eric?", the man asked

"Those names are typical, and our first son's name is already called Eric"

"What do you mean? I think those are great names"

"Those aren't great names dear, though I have a better one. How about we call him Rim"

Rim? What are they talking about, are they talking about me? But, my name is not Rim, it's Izuma. Shizuko Izuma...

"Rim is a nice name I guess, though I still think my choices were better", the man said

"So he will be called Rim von Excelsior"

While they were still talking, I could hear another person enter a door, and from what I could hear, they sound like a child. Well, two children could be heard, a boy and a girl.

"Mama, has brother stopped crying?", the voice which sounds like a boy said

"Mama, have you named my little brother yet", the voice that sounds like a girl also said

"Fresca, What do you mean "your" little brother? He is my brother too"

"Well it seems he already likes me more, Eric."

"I highly doubt that Sister, he definitely likes his Nii-san more"

"Now, now, children. Stop arguing and bothering your mother and your little brother", the man said as he reprimands the children

""Yes, Papa""

Though the argument may have stopped for now, they continue to have a very "passionate" conversation, and from what I can learn, I am the 2nd son of the family of Excelsior, Rim von Excelsior, and these two, Fresca and Eric, are my older sister and brother, in which my brother is the eldest.

My sister is only slightly older than me by a few years and there were many mentions of different places and people which I do not recognize or understand.

Why do I suddenly feel so drowsy...

I feel...like...falling.....asleep...

I am now seven years old, and though I still don't understand most of this world, I do understand that I seem to have reincarnated into another world. This world seems to be in the fantasy setting with swords and magic, like something you would read out of a light novel. The Excelsior family seems to be a renowned Magician family and has the noble title of Marquis

My father is named Julius von Excelsior and my mother is named Ariana von Excelsior. Throughout my three years of being, I have been slowly learning the language of this world and have come to understand that we live in the Kingdom of Livira.

I am still unsure how I can understand other people and how they can understand me even though the language seems to be different from Japanese. The language also sounds like Japanese when spoken by other people.

Both my brother and my sister still teach me alot of things they learned through their trips on other countries and their school

Recently though, my interest and attention has mostly been focused on learning magic. It is one thing this world has and it's quite important to be able to wield it

[Hmm, let's see here]

I'm currently reading this book which I found in the library in our mansion. Don't tell anyone but, It's about how magic works and it's different types and spells; which I am quite interested in.

"Huh, so magic can determine your rank in society and as such, higher ranked people tend to wield magic with higher potency and strength", I said to myself whilst pondering about it

Basically magic has the four basic elements which are self explanatory, light, which is mostly used for healing, Dark, which are curses and hexes, Divine, which can only be used by blessed or holy beings, and Demon which can only used by Demon cursed beings or Demons.

Demon and Divine are said to be the most powerful magic among the 9 base types, with the exception of Unique, which is more of a wildcard of the base types.

Unique is the one that interests me the most, as it is a type of magic which can only exist within the persons who wields it, and no one else. It can either be quite useless, like instant spice (it makes any food time spicy) , or extremely powerful, like 'Absolute Split' (it can split anything from an atom, all the way to a planet)

My siblings don't have Unique Magic yet, as do I, but Eric Nii-san is nearing the age to acquire it, so I'm looking forward to that!

Typically, a person can only wield one unique magic at a time, though there have been stories and legends of people wielding two, or thee at a time.

I have seen these extended type magic being used by my parents in training, or when battling monsters. They have also been used for basic everyday things, like using ice to cool items, or 'plant grow', to grow the garden.

Ooh. I want to know what my magic affiliation is soon. I can't wait until I'm 13!

"Watcha Reading?"

"Agh! Urk!"

Suddenly, before I could read any further, a voice jumped out from behind me. I yelped and jumped from my seat and fell down.

"Oops! Sorry Rim. Didn't mean to scare ya."

It was my sister, Fresca. Why does she always do this?!

"Still though, what were you reading" She inquired. I was still reeling from the pain of falling down though.

"Oh, it's just some book about magic." I replied flatly

As I finished talking, Née-san's eyes seemed to sparkle for a bit. Is that good?

"Magic? I didn't know you were interested in magic." She said, with a slight smirk

"Obviously, magic sounds cool!" I said, wondering why she is asking these questions.

After that, her smirk widened even more, I don't like where this is going...

"Well, I'll have you know that I know a thing or two about magic from my school, and I could teach you!" She said, with a large grin on her face

Wait, for real?! I take it all back, I DO like where this is going.

"Are you serious?! That would be awesome! Wait, can you even teach me magic?" I said, mesmerised by the thought of possibly learning magic, but still a bit skeptical.

Née-san frowned a bit. "What do you mean? I can totally teach you magic, it's not even that hard! Now do you want me to teach you or not?" She said, looking like she was offended

Look, I'm just skeptical from any offers that sounds too good to be true.

"Okay! Okay. I'll be under your care." I say, not wanting to lose this once in a lifetime opportunity. Well, more like a once in a life time oppurtunity that I have early, since typically people go to school when they reach the ripe age of 10 to learn a bunch of things, including magic.

"Then it's settled! From now on, you will call me, Teacher!" Née-san said with a proud face.

With that settled, it seems I'll be learning magic from my sister....
