Shaking my head, my mind refocused on something Tobias had said. "What the hell is a zombie?" I asked, still not sure that I even heard them correctly. There was no way in hell there could be zombies on Earth… right?!?
Tobias pointed to the field behind us, and I turned around in Axis' arms to see what he was pointing to. There must have been almost 50 beings just staring at us. They were different shades of purple and blue and seemed to sway back and forth like waves in the sea.
"Those are the zombies," grunted Tobias, his face twisting in a smile. There was clearly a screw loose in his head by the way he was looking at me, his eyes growing bigger. "And since you are here, they'll choose an easy prey and leave us alone. I would thank you for your sacrifice, but this death is nothing more than you deserve."
I cocked my head to the side, and I watched as row after row of the creatures copied my movements. Their eyes never leave mine.
