Rudy tried to rationalize what happened but could not. Therefore, he rose, wiped his bloody nose, pushed it back into place, and combed his hair. Then, he sought the man who defeated him.
Cedric was enjoying the hatred of the crowd when Rudy blocked his path back to the stands. He did not appear hostile, only confused about what had happened.
"You owe me a favor," Cedric said with a smile. "But you don't look like a man who has accepted his defeat."
"How could I?" Rudy said with an expressionless, blood-stained face. "I want to know how you deactivated my ability. That has never happened before, even against B-rank adventurers or higher."
"I was just a bad match against you," Cedric said as he walked to pass the confused teleporter. "I have a way to keep things exactly where I want them. I will come to visit you later about the favor."
