The gemstone itself was useless if used as it was. Cedric even imagined stoning the archbishop with the gemstone and the embarrassment that would follow. However, this raw gemstone could be used to create a weapon capable of destroying holy barriers.
The ones who would be able to turn this gemstone into a weapon had to be the dwarves, masters of crafting. Cedric should be able to find a good smith in Junior Mountain's diverse population.
After defeating Azikan, Cedric was too tired to keep fighting. He had already used Shadestep three times, far more than his limit. His body was covered in bruises despite his hardened skin, and he was sure that some of his ribs were broken.
Cedric had to use his shadow to rise back through the ceiling. Azikan seemed to have remodeled the paths using his bones, which might prove dangerous to travel. Therefore, his shadow turned into a thin rope that rose to the ceiling and pulled him up.
