The Church of Aegis has a holy city in each of the six kingdoms in Elaris. These cities exist as forces to be reckoned with against summoners and unknown threats. Given its ability to allocate points without lengthy mediation, the cities became a destination for many.
Each of the Holy Cities was ruled by an archbishop. They are considered the highest authorities, serving no one other than the Archon of Aegis. And the one who ordered the assassination of Cedric was none other than the Archbishop of Aeloria, Lucien Voreis.
"Lucien himself ordered the assassination?" asked Eldrin with a frown, recognizing the threat Cedric was facing. "But for what reason?"
"It could be someone other than Lucien, but the ones who attacked me belonged to the Veil Division."
"The Veil is a secret division inside the church that very few know about. Their mission is to handle delicate matters in a discreet manner. They are the other face of the Apostles," Morrin added.
