"It seems your little adventure made you forget your manners," Gareth berated him while swinging his sword. Each swing caused gales of wind to storm the training grounds. "How about we have a little bet?"

"Are you that desperate for money?" asked Cedric with a smirk.

"We aren't betting money, foolish little brother. My mother's birthday is coming, and I don't want you to attend the annual party. It would be a sour sight for our eyes to see you there."

The second prince dropped the façade as he brought forward the main topic. Cedric smiled but did not give an answer. He knew that the balls held by the royal family were a chance to strengthen his relationship with the nobles and influential people of the kingdom.
