Cedric saw how Kain's shadow resembled a human, even though it had scythes for hands. As for his own shadow, it was a formless beast that could change into any shape. However, he had never seen it take a human form.
"Flattery won't get you anywhere, Kain," Cedric said, avoiding overthinking about his shadow's shape. Shade flapped its wings before flying over the altar, watching the statue in the middle with nostalgia.
Kain saw the Djinn Cat but did not recognize its might. He sneered as he raised a hand, summoning countless shadows. They emerged from the shadows of the altar and their own shadows.
