After opening the doors to his chamber, Cedric found Ember sitting on the couch, her expression one of shame. As soon as he walked inside, she knelt on the ground in one swift motion.
"I have failed you, Your Highness," she said, her head lowered in shame. "I not only revealed your identity to the heretic but also your plans against the church to your grandfather. I understand the severity of my error."
