The carriage was furnished, but the bumpy road made Cedric's wound ache. Although Shadestep had almost killed him again, he was recovering better than before thanks to the healers, potions, and his vitality.
It was a shame that Cedric had missed seeing Sinclaw. He was excited about seeing the cities he had read about in person. Their looming threats, high-rising towers, and hidden dungeons made his heart beat with excitement.
The caravan came to a stop once night descended. Cedric felt the carriage move, and just a few moments later, the door opened. Aria entered the carriage and gave him a side-eye. Her beautiful features were now covered with a layer of ice.
"I didn't think you would survive those wounds," Aria admitted before she took a seat next to Ember, who was sitting on the other side of the carriage. "Let me hear what happened to you."
