There was only one fight left in the first round. Cedric would have to defeat one more person to remain on the list. The only ones who remained undefeated from the list were twenty-eight participants. Over a hundred people were disqualified from the Heroes List because they lost a match.
The main reason behind their defeats was mana and physical exhaustion. Although the Temple of Warriors provided healing potions, that's all they did. They healed wounds but did not recover the body.
Cedric was still in the top ten, but his position was still at eighth. He couldn't understand what he was doing differently until he saw Selo's fight against a poor swordsman.
Selo looked like a beast in human skin. His hair was messy, and his beard was overgrown. It was clear that he had spent a good portion of his life in solitude or fighting monsters. His wooden sword rested inside the black cloth he wrapped around his waist.
