"Must I state the obvious here for you, lad?" Dain said while cleaning her hands and throwing the towel to the side. "You can go next door, and they would be happy to tell you why."
"I want the raw and unfiltered truth. People have a tendency to exaggerate or hide things," Cedric said with a grin as he raised his head to look at the fae smith. "Tell me."
"You are one nagging bastard, I tell you that," Dain said with a sigh as she sat on a wooden box. "You know how the church opposes interracial marriage or relationships?"
"Not really," Cedric said with surprise. "I'm engaged to an elf."
"Elves and humans are considered to have the same ancestry. Elves simply evolved to have longer ears and an affinity to elements in order to survive the woods," Dain said with a sigh. "Other races are forbidden from breeding or marrying each other. A fae cannot marry a human."
"And how is that related to you?"
