Arturo was hesitant, of course, but Cedric gave him enough time to think about it. This decision would dramatically change his life, and it would be a matter of no return.
Of course, Arturo was not given any details. He didn't know about their plan to assassinate an archbishop. If he did, he wouldn't even think about the matter since it was suicidal either way. At best, he would run away from the tournament.
Cedric allowed him to leave but reminded him about the shadow nonetheless. Arturo watched as a new shadow was summoned, and it dissolved beneath his feet. Then, the guide left.
"Are you sure about this?" asked Morrin with a frown. "Even if we kill him before he reveals the truth, we would be in a bad spot if a shadow kills him."
"Oh, that was a lie. I still cannot keep monitoring him the entire time," Cedric said with a shake of his head. "I just made him believe that would be the case."
