Shadows were a reflection of a person's soul or body. As for objects and spaces, their shadows would also become objects and spaces inside Umbra. Shadows were the overlap between Umbra and Elaris.
Cedric became aware of shadows and gained the ability to control them, making it easier for him to control his body. He could not care less about honor or values in this duel. Most would think of him as cheating, but he had two words for them.

Tristan jumped backward as soon as his vest came loose. He stared at the long tear in his jacket and vest before letting out a wide smile. After taking his stance again, he gave Cedric a condescending look.
