Chapter 6 - The Dragon's Talents

As the trio traveled, Enzo wondered if the two girls were purposely going slow since it seemed Kayla and Jenna got distracted and sidetracked at every opportunity.

What could have been an hour's journey turned into three, leaving Enzo with 20 hours left on the buff, and he had every plan to make full use of it.

Since Enzo received a high-grade gaming pod and not a cheap helmet, he could stay in the game world for up to a month without leaving, but he doubted Ari, his sister, would allow him the opportunity. 'I just hope she doesn't disturb me for 12 hours at least. Hopefully, she's at some friend's house tonight.'

Time passed at a 2 to 1 ratio inside the game world, with 24 hours outside the game world equivalent to 12 hours inside the game.

As soon as he saw the kingdom's inner city's walls, Enzo played the role of an overzealous young lizard who wanted to see the mighty kingdom of Alveron for the first time and ran full speed at the walls.

Kayla and Jenna jumped in fright. It seemed as though they had only blinked, and the lizard right beside them was already halfway to the gates!

Seeing the sight, Jenna narrowed her eyes. "He must have about 50 dexterity," Jenna murmured. The fact that Jenna had seen through his stats so quickly went unnoticed by Enzo, but even if he knew, he wouldn't care.

So what if she knew? He was a tamed beast. Unless she saw him disobey an order from Kayla, she wouldn't dare voice any suspicions. To do so would be to question Kayla's skills, and Enzo realized from their time together that Jenna had too much respect for the kingdom's hierarchy to do that.

That's why he froze when Enzo received a command to stop the mental link established with Kayla. Standing as still as a statue, Enzo pretended to stare longingly at the gates that led to the inner city.

Enzo had become aware of his location, inside the walls of the outer city of Alveron, through the girl's constant blabberings.

They were in the forest of Verna, a manmade forest used to house beasts of low rank to train the youths of the kingdom.

Kayla and Jenna ran up behind Enzo, gasping for breath. As the duo arrived next to Enzo, Jenna eyed Enzo warily while Kayla squatted down and attempted to pick up Enzo.

Contrary to Kayla's expectations, Enzo was heavy! His 3m (10ft~) body must have weighed close to 500kg (1100 lbs ~)!

Giving up on the idea of lifting Enzo, Jenna stood up and pondered for a moment before she seemed to come to some enlightenment.

A ring on Kayla's right hand suddenly exuded a faint light, illuminating several symbols that were carved on the ring.

Suddenly, Enzo perceived something… strange. He remembered this feeling. It was a similar to when he used the wind or water element but more profound and considerably more in tune with his body.

If sensing the wind or water element had been akin to seeing a video at 240p, what Enzo now felt was akin to 8k HD resolution.

When Enzo sensed the strange yet familiar feeling, a small, barely discernible ripple appeared. After a moment, the ripple closed, but not before spitting out a dazzling white wristband.

'The space element.' For the first time in either life, Enzo had sensed the space element, and just from the glance, Enzo fell into a dazed state.

For most creatures, elemental affinity was determined at birth and would never be naturally raised. Only by consuming precious treasures would one be able to increase their elemental affinity.

But just because someone was born with high elemental affinity didn't mean they would be strong. They had to learn how to control the element, and only by studying the elements could one achieve mastery over their element.

To put it simply, everyone started at 0 mastery, even dragons. But the higher the elemental affinity, the faster and higher one would climb.

[You've increased your Spatial Elemental Mastery by 0.05]

From Enzo's simple glance at the spatial ripple caused by Kayla's spatial ring, Enzo had gained points.

Enzo trembled in excitement. He had gained elemental mastery just by looking at a spatial ring!

Even though the points weren't worth considering, Enzo wasn't excited about them but just because he could gain them quickly.

Elemental affinity didn't only determine how fast and high one could climb but also how one could gain enlightenment in the element.

For instance, someone with a high elemental affinity for water might be able to go to the ocean and gaze at the waves and see their intricate depths. In contrast, others with low elemental affinity in water would have to go to specialized training rooms filled with the purest water element to gain points.

However, that was for the non-primordial elements. For elements like Time, Space, Creation, and Destruction, the resources required to gain mastery points were extremely expensive or time-intensive.

Enzo recalled a human born on the Razzar Continent who had a medium elemental affinity in the space element, and even after years of dedicating himself to learning the space element, he hadn't even gained 10 points!

As Enzo's thoughts started drifting to the past, Enzo frowned. "That's strange… From what I remember, the Alveron Kingdom only had a prince. When did they get a princess?"

As he realized this fact, Enzo spotted the inner gates, so he had to put that thought in the back of his mind.

Arriving in the inner city, Enzo was greeted by two guards on either side of a massive gate. The guards looked at Enzo with curious glances but didn't dare voice their opinions as the princess acted like Enzo belonged.

The trio passed the now-bowing guards without incident and entered the inner city.

Enzo's priority was to get out of the grasp of the two women as fast as possible. He had a few plans that could be enacted within the Alveron Kingdom, but all of them required that he be alone for them to work seamlessly.

As the trio navigated through the city, there were only a few people inside the inner city, but those on the streets had to look twice to confirm they were seeing things correctly.

Enzo knew dragons weren't prevalent inside the Razzar Continent and would only appear after update 2.0.

The whole continent was shrouded from the outside world, and it was only after update 2.0 that the continent realized they were all just frogs in a well.

Arriving in front of a large castle, Enzo recognized it as the castle of Alveron the 3rd, the king of Alveron.

Enzo was part of the guild in the inner city of the Alveron Kingdom. He had been to the castle in the past as a guest but had never spoken to the king.

As Beast Online wasn't a game, it didn't conform to the usual standards, making it very hard to meet with the king.

After entering the main palace, the trio reached the princess's chambers. Fortunately, the king was a busy man, as Enzo wasn't quite sure whether or not the king knew about dragons.

Although the Razzar Continent wasn't connected to the rest of the world, that didn't mean it didn't have ways of finding out things, especially for someone like the king.

Enzo quietly waited for night and for the princess to fall asleep before leaving her room.
