"Plunging the entire world into ultimate darkness? Hmph, ridiculous... I suppose I'll just make use of it."
In the same courtyard, Selene sat by the flowerbed, holding a vividly colored porcelain teacup, letting out a soft chuckle as if she'd just heard something amusing.
"Miss, please maintain your decorum," Sebas, who was serving nearby, reminded her appropriately.
"Alright, I know. I was just reminded of something funny..." A small demon isolated on an island, defeated by a group of human sorcerers (Onmyoji) using life-for-life magic... Tarakudo and his Shadowkhan army—Selene found it hard to believe they could possess the kind of dark power to consume the entire world.
Then again, she reasoned, it made sense. Thousands of years ago, the ancient people of Japan had limited horizons, and with the Shadowkhan army at its peak of power back then, it might have had the capacity to threaten what those island sorcerers considered the "whole world."
But as for conquering the entire Earth? Selene simply treated it as a joke, a source of light amusement.
Now, if it were the full-strength Eight Demon Sorcerers doing the job, that might be more plausible. After all, Tso Lan, even after returning from Hell with many of his memories eroded by time, almost took control of the entire moon in a short span of time.
Looking at it that way, controlling the Earth-Moon system likely wouldn't be a challenge for the fully revived Eight Demon Sorcerers. It would be merely a matter of time and intention.
Based on Leiva's report, Selene had already pinpointed the timeline—this was the beginning of the Shadowkhan Mask Arc.
The Eight Demon Sorcerers had already been resealed, and Shendu had lost his demonic powers, reduced to a pitiful state. Though Shendu would eventually break free from Hell and return to the mortal world, he was immediately captured and heavily sealed again before he could regain much power.
A rather tragic story, Selene mused.
Speaking of which, one could not ignore the defining feature of the Jackie Chan Adventures world—balance! Especially the balance between Yin and Yang. Everything had its counterbalance, and like a closed loop, it perpetually cycled.
In the grand scheme of Yin-Yang balance, with the absence of powerful demons representing Yin, the natural order required new vessels for Yin's power. After much searching and eliminating weaker options, the choice fell on the Shadowkhan masks!
Although Tarakudo's abilities couldn't compare to the Eight Demon Sorcerers, his so-called "ultimate darkness" presented a unique opportunity.
Unlike the Akame ga Kill world, which had long since fallen from its peak and entered one of its weakest eras in thousands of years, the Jackie Chan Adventures universe, influenced by the balance of Yin and Yang, had hidden powers that were far from as fragile as they appeared on the surface.
Its protective barriers were like iron walls. While weaker entities might slip through without issue, larger beings like Selene were tightly restricted.
If Selene were to forcefully break into this world, it could trigger an alliance between Yin and Yang to repel her. The return of immortals, demons breaking their seals, magic tides restoring... If all the hidden forces joined together to fight her, it would certainly not be pleasant.
Better to be cautious.
By utilizing the complete unsealing of the nine Shadowkhan masks, which represented Yin, and the subsequent struggle between Yin (Shadowkhan) and Yang (Chi Warriors), Selene could exploit the moment when Yin overtakes Yang. With Leiva as her insider, she could subtly infiltrate and introduce large quantities of high-concentration Honkai energy into that world.
With her plan worked out, Selene turned toward Sebas, who stood attentively nearby. "Leiva has acquired one of the masks. Let's go, Sebas—show me how your Honkai Beast army is progressing."
Every Herrscher, upon their awakening, commands their own Honkai army. Even without causing a global Honkai outbreak, as long as there was imaginary space energy, beings like lower-tier Honkai Beasts were not difficult to mass-produce, even for Sebas, Selene's loyal companion.
Compared to high-tier Honkai entities, which Sebas couldn't create, lower-tier Honkai Beasts were beings purely constructed from imaginary energy. With only basic intelligence and no Herrscher core, they simply followed their creator's commands mechanically.
Thus, producing them en masse wasn't difficult.
As for high-tier Honkai Beasts, Sebas couldn't manage it. That level of creation was reserved only for Herrschers, who could produce them in large numbers.
Entering Sebas's virtual space where the Honkai Beasts were being created, Selene's gaze was greeted by endless waves of white-and-purple beings. Some were human-sized charging beasts, while others were massive, chariot-like creatures over ten meters tall.
"In the past year, we've prepared millions of lower-tier Honkai Beasts, including charging units and chariot types," Sebas explained.
Simultaneously, the production of Honkai Beasts showed no signs of stopping. In Selene's vision, countless purple-red energy particles continued to gather and compress. Before long, a new swarm of white-bodied creatures, crowned with purple halos and sporting high-speed wings, was born.
"These small ones alone aren't enough..." Selene extended both hands, her tone rising in anticipation. "Sebas, now witness my accomplishment."
The space trembled. Black fissures tore through the void, and colossal beasts began to emerge—fifty- to sixty-meter-tall Templar-class Honkai Beasts, over a hundred meters tall Emperor-class Honkai Beasts, and even the towering Judgment-class Honkai Beasts, hundreds of meters tall. They appeared in overwhelming numbers, blotting out the sky and filling every corner of Selene's vision.
"Only with millions of such beasts can we truly call it a Honkai Army!"
"Are you ready?"

Jackie Chan Adventures Universe, San Francisco, Uncle's Antique Shop.
"A catastrophe... for the whole world? Uncle, are you sure it's that serious? Aren't the demons..." Jackie hesitated. The most powerful foes they had encountered so far were the Eight Demon Sorcerers, led by Shendu, but they had all been fully sealed in the Netherworld and couldn't return. (In the original series, Shendu was often portrayed as the leader of the eight demons.)
Nearby, Police Captain Black scratched his head in confusion, feeling out of his depth. "Another world-threatening disaster? Shouldn't we seek help from the military?"
"Aiya! How many times must I say it?! You fight magic with magic!" Uncle retorted. Jackie was slow enough, and now Captain Black seemed even slower.
"Ow... but that was Captain Black's suggestion, not mine." Jackie protested, rubbing his forehead where Uncle had struck him.
"Do you think Uncle is exaggerating? Do as I say, and stop questioning me!"
Uncle sighed, seeing the blank stares around him. The decline of magic civilization had left these modern people clueless. The legends of the immortals, the legacy of the Chi Warriors—all of it had been lost over time.
Jackie was too dense, Tohru didn't like to think, and as for Captain Black... well, best not to mention him. Only Jade had the intelligence and energy to inherit Uncle's knowledge, but she was far too mischievous and still needed to focus on her studies at her young age.
Suddenly, BANG!
As if summoned by his thoughts, Jade kicked open the door to the study and marched in with a loud shout.
"Whoa! Uncle Jackie, that silver-haired guy's magic artifacts were so cool! Can I have one, Uncle? Can you make it?"
"JADE!" Jackie, hands on his hips, said helplessly, "Your job right now is to memorize the capitals of all fifty states."
"Aw, come on, Uncle Jackie, I just want to help too..."
