Chapter 191 - Futile Resistance

"Leiva, you don't need to worry about Jackie anymore. Return to the ruins of Section 13 and assist the Honkai Legion in protecting the embryo."

"Understood!"

Leiva, still caught off guard by Jackie's seemingly unstoppable power surges, snapped back to reality as Selene's voice echoed in his mind.

Boom!

From the sky, a clear view of the Rocky Mountains showed a brutal scene—the once mighty mountain range, stretching from Canada to Mexico, had been violently severed. Massive chunks of stone, hurled across several states by the explosive force, left a trail of devastation in their path.

Billowing ash surged skyward, toxic and choking the sky, while rivers of molten lava poured down, igniting forests and painting the earth in a hellish red. The once serene plains now turned into a deathly landscape where countless wild animals frantically fled.

High above, Selene floated, her gaze unwavering and indifferent.

Her pupils, once sharp and crimson, were now encircled by a glowing golden ring. Dressed in the form-fitting [Herrscher of the Void] attire, six violet energy wings extended from her back, the Void Spears spread wide like a deadly halo. Her crown glowed purple, a constellation of colorful rings swirling around her head like the embodiment of a divine being.

Selene had fully embraced her Herrscher form, releasing her hidden powers to the fullest extent.

With each breath, a violent ripple emanated from her, distorting the very fabric of space around her. The surrounding landscape twisted under the weight of her overwhelming presence.

Having issued her orders to Leiva, Selene turned her focus back to the molten sea below her, her voice calm, yet charged with disdain. "The so-called 'Immortals'..."

"Come, amuse me for a few seconds—if you can."

Her confidence wasn't unfounded.

The Honkai invasion had already deeply infiltrated this world. The long history and power of its ancient civilizations were now funneled directly to Selene, bolstering her strength. With the world's protective barrier on the verge of collapse and Black Qi dominating the balance, Selene now stood unrivaled.

The legendary Shendu, the fire demon who once held a significant portion of Black Qi's power, was a far greater threat than Jackie, who was just a "temporary vessel."

Though the forces of Righteous Qi struggled to fortify Jackie's God Armor with the power of the Immortals, the balance was lost. Selene had all the advantages—timing, terrain, and momentum. Victory, for her, seemed inevitable.

And, with the humiliating failure of Ashvattha, the Emperor-class Honkai beast, Selene had learned not to underestimate any enemy. Caution remained at the forefront of her mind, even as arrogance colored her every move.

Suddenly, as if reacting to Selene's taunt, or perhaps drawn by the deadly energy radiating from her, a blinding light erupted from the molten sea below!

The burning night was illuminated, and in the glow, Jackie's body glowed faintly blue, his eyes now shimmering with a ghostly light as his pupils slowly turned to match the color of his God Armor.

"So, Jackie is dead..." Selene muttered, narrowing her eyes. "And now 'you' are controlling his body. This must be the final vessel."

She chuckled to herself, thinking of her earlier precautions. "Good thing I pulverized Uncle, Jade, and Tohru—potential reincarnations of the Warriors of Light. Otherwise, I might've had to face the fourth revived Immortals."

"With the final obstacle removed, I can almost taste the victory that's rightfully mine."

With that, the Void Spears behind her ignited, propelling Selene forward. She tore through the air like a storm, her speed creating hurricanes in her wake.

Anything in her path—rocks, debris, even space itself—was torn apart as the sheer force of her passage left the environment twisting in her wake.

Boom!

The mighty Rocky Mountains, towering over 3,000 meters high, were once again shattered, as Selene barreled through their heart, creating a massive tunnel in the middle of the mountain.

But Jackie—no, the entity controlling Jackie—was not to be outdone. His body, now engulfed in an eerie blue light, streaked toward Selene, colliding head-on with her.

When their forces collided, a shockwave erupted, rippling out and creating a vacuum around them.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

For mere seconds, the two exchanged countless blows, each impact shaking the land below them. But in the flurry of attacks, Selene's sharp eyes detected a flaw in her opponent's movements—Jackie's body hadn't fully adjusted to its newfound power.

Without hesitation, Selene's Void Spears coiled around one another and lashed out.

Smash!

A devastating strike landed, sparks flying as Selene's force bypassed the God Armor's weakened defense. Even before Jackie could register the attack, space itself rippled from the impact.

With a blast that distorted space, Jackie's body was launched like a supercharged railgun, smashing through the Rockies, carving out a molten path as his body dissolved a series of mountains in his wake.

The attack didn't stop until Jackie's broken form slammed into a distant mountainside, embedding itself halfway up the cliff. His God Armor, once pristine and formidable, was now cracked, blood and fluids oozing from the breaks.

For a moment, Jackie's body hung there, motionless.

Seeing her opening, Selene's remaining ten Void Spears darted forward, sealing every possible escape route. Each spear targeted the weakened points of Jackie's armor, puncturing deep into his chest.

The divine energy that once surged through Jackie's body came to a grinding halt.

In its place, Honkai energy flooded into him, forcibly overriding his body's functions, twisting and warping his physical form.

Selene's right hand, now glowing with an intense violet light, plunged into Jackie's face, smashing through his skull and obliterating his brain.

In that instant, Jackie Chan was defeated.

As her hand disintegrated the remnants of blood and bone, Selene floated silently over Jackie's broken corpse.

Though she found herself slightly unsatisfied with the battle's brevity, she also acknowledged the reality. Even with the lingering power of the Immortals, the God Armor and Jackie's temporary connection to divine power had its limits.

"To last this long under such conditions... it was impressive," she mused.

But now, the battle was over.
