Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Police Raid Part 2

Mboto and Tomoe shine their military flashlights inside the lobby that has gone dark. They scan and pop off 5 other zombies. Garrett checks in with their eyes and asks, "How is it looking for the streets so far?"

Marina answers as Hicks checks his scope. "We have some small hordes of about 50 strong approaching from up the street and down the street. We can hold them off with the ammo we have for now. But if more than 400 show up we will be overrun. Better prepare yourselves for the need to rush out in about 15 minutes."

Garrett confirms over the radio and goes to check on Tomoe and Mboto who are clearing the rest of the building, "Listen up! We have incoming! 15 minutes out! Grab the gear we can and maybe a SWAT van and we get the hell out of here! Understood squad?"

With a quick affirmation the trio go deeper into the building taking out zombies in offices and in the break rooms. The cells were also filled with zombies. No one had been spared when this epidemic came through.

Garrett starts to clear every zombie he sees with a quick beheading from his sword or knife. And is shocked at how much his stats have improved him. He feels better than ever before!

Almost as if he has reached peak human physical and mental limits!

But that means he is simply entering the realm of superhuman like Captain America at this point. He has a lot of growth left to do. he is hoping to be able to one shot most zombie mutants going forward. The only trouble is their core weak point moving around their body as they change. He clicks his tongue as he beheads two more zombies in the offices. They check the first floor and fill a duffel bag full of spare pistols, shot guns, and ammo.

They also grab the keys to a Swat van and a tactical squad van for deploying a squad of police officers in a crisis. The trio heads to the second floor where they see the windows have been blasted in from across the street as Marina and Hicks have been picking off the second floor zombies.

Garrett smirks as he sees this as the locker room, training rooms, and shooting range floor, along with a few overnight rooms for night shift officers. Garrett directs Mboto and Tomoe to clear the training rooms and shooting range of weapons and ammo. Handing them each a duffel bag while he rushes down the hall to the locker rooms.

He finds them barricaded. But also with a lot of blood escaping from below the door frame. Readying his knife and sword he kicks the locked and boarded up doors in.

Inside he is disgusted as he sees at least 40 bodies piled high from zombies munching on them with another 25 or so currently eating from the pile. The zombies all stop their feasting and turn to Garrett who is already leaping off the floor and kicking off a pair of lockers by the entrance. He spins mid air and slashes two zombies in half from his sword and beheads another one with his knife. Soon he becomes a blur as he leaps up and runs along a long bench that has him slashing through the skulls of 5 more zombies, one after another.

Then he kicks another zombie in the face and caves their skull in. Squishing its brains within the bone and making it paint the wall it was kicked against. Garrett pays it no mind.

He comes across a child zombie, and besides hesitating for a moment he flashes back to his niece and nephew... praying they were alright, but cutting it down the middle so it wouldn't suffer anymore in its undead state. Soon enough all the zombies are now bodies without heads or in two pieces.

Garrett huffs as he looks at his blood soaked sword. He might have stopped seeing their current states as human. But he knows they used to be. And he grows angry at whoever put this in motion to ruin so many innocent lives who had yet to grow up or enjoy life.

He heads deeper into the locker rooms and checks for any weapons, ammo, or supplies people may have left in their lockers. He finds some rations, snacks, and a baton or a stun gun here and there. But he also finds plenty of clothes that people stored inside.

Taking out a large cart he makes sure to load it high with all the clothing to bring back. After all with over 50 survivors they needed the spare pieces.

He brings the cart and duffel bag out while Tomoe and Mboto join him with a pair of duffel bags each now. They load them into the cart and leave it by the elevator to pick up on their way to the parking garage.

They all head up to the third floor.

In the third floor they see the meeting rooms, case rooms, evidence room, and interrogation rooms. Some zombies are here and there. But with eager grins they rush the floor and begin to knife and shoot every zombie they see. With a trio of experienced soldiers against maybe 25 regular zombies... The undead don't last long.

They eye their handy work as the zombies are now lying dead with holes and large gashes in their heads. Soon enough they were harvesting the fruits of their spoils. Using the code the police chief gave them they opened up the evidence and confiscation room. And began to take out all manner of illegal weapons from katanas forged with titanium alloy to high powered guns like a slug round 12 gauge shotgun from African hunting reserves. They even found an anti tank sniper rifle with at least 50 rounds with it.

They all grin as they load up 2 carts meant for laundry services and put them by the elevator. They go back with jogging speed as they hear some gun fire from Marina and Hicks outside. The small hordes had reached their block. They double timed it to empty out the rooms they needed the weapons and supplies from. Soon enough they had 4 heavily loaded carts full of water, weapons, rations, canned goods from the overnight break rooms and guest rooms. And were currently going down the elevator with a pair of carts each time.

They unloaded them into the parking garage and went about raiding the keys of vans for SWAT and squad deployment. As they began to load up the vans a crackling voice over the radio shouts, "Sir! Colonel! Warning! A large number of those mutants are coming down the road! It looks to be about 10 bulkers, 5 speedsters, and 4 what look to be bone plated zombies! None that look like that mutant variant we fought at the entrance but they are mean and are leading a horde of at least 200 zombies! They are on their way here! We have maybe 5 minutes! Over!"

Garrett finishes helping with the cart he had and turned to the radio while Mboto and Tomoe both focus on the remaining 4 carts. Garrett turns on his radio and goes, "Alright received, hold them off if they get too close but pack up your sniper nest and be ready to retreat! We have supplies and vehicles galore now! Get your butts off the roof and meet up by the garage exit!"

With a quick, "Acknowledged sir!" Marina goes silent on her radio end while the rest pack up the supplies, tie them down with loading cords and shackles from the inside of the van. Tomoe takes the SWAT van, Mboto takes a heavy riot van, and Garrett grabs a squad van. They rush out with Tomoe taking the lead while Mboto is the second car and Garrett brings up the rear.

Marina and Hicks are seen rushing towards them while the incoming horde is seen just 4 blocks down and are beginning to pick up speed as they spot the fleeing humans. Marina joins Tomoe while Hicks joins Mboto. They all speed off right as the speedster zombies rush and begin to come at them with a solid 100mph for their efforts. The soldiers begin to panic as they pick up speed to 60 mph to try and stay ahead. But Garrett sighs as he goes, "I am too nice to people in trouble."

He yanks the emergency brake and pulls a doughnut that whacks the running zombies into the nearby building making them stall all pursuit. The others cheer and focus on the road not realizing that Garrett has stopped his car and is climbing out with his sword and knife ready.

He stands in the way of the oncoming horde that are all running at them now. Being spurred on by the cheap shot to their runner units.

The others finally notice what Garrett is doing and yell into their radios, each one adding thier protest to the channel, "Colonel!/ What are you doing!/ Don't be a hero!/ We need you!/ You still owe me 50 bucks!"

(That last one was Hicks)

Garrett smiles as he eyes the oncoming point buffet as he answers, "You all go on, I'll hold them here so you can warn the survivor camp. If I get the chance I'll retreat, but someone has to give you all time to drop off the supplies and weapons and arm those defenders properly. So go and get ready for a siege! That is a direct order! Survive and live on! I'll join you when I can!"

The squad all tear up and begin to focus on what was, to their ears, their last order from the colonel.

To the colonel? It was Tuesday.

He readies his blades as a quest appears, Survive against the zombie army that would have taken over the police station and turned it into a mid level dungeon! Rewards: 5,000 points, +5 to all stats, +1 5,000 or less weapon/armor from the shop

Garrett eyes the quest as he readies his blades with a lot of fire to fight and survive in his eyes, "That was unneeded but appreciated system! Let me at them!"

Garrett counter charged and hit the 200+ horde dead on.
