Chapter Three
A week had passed, and the Gonzalez family was celebrating a successful deal at a luxurious hotel. The entire family, including Carly's uncle, aunts, and cousins, joined them in the celebration.
Travis, Carly's older brother, remarked, "I won't be cold this winter since I will be in the company of my girlfriend, unlike someone," gesturing toward his sister.
"Why are you looking at me? I hate to burst your bubble," Carly responded with a smile, "I do have a boyfriend."
"Carly Gonzalez, do you have a boyfriend or just a guy who is a friend?" inquired Sabrina, Carly's cousin.
"He is my boyfriend, Sabrina, BOYFRIEND," Carly asserted, her frustration becoming apparent.
"Well, introduce him to me. I'd like to meet him," requested Dimitri, Carly's father, as he kept his gaze on his daughter, awaiting her response.
All eyes were on Carly at this point, eagerly waiting for her to respond.
"Do you all believe that I am lying?" Carly expressed her frustration. The family remained unconvinced.
"How about you introduce him to us today, and don't say he is busy. Come on, honey, call him," Mila, Carly's mother, requested with a smile.
"I will, and you all are going to be sorry and disappointed," Carly declared as she walked away from her family. Her family remained unfazed and continued with dinner.
"I cannot believe Travis did this to me. This is troublesome. Where will I find a boyfriend at this time? If I don't, they will hold this against me. I'll make sure my brother pays for this."
