THE JOURNEY TO the temple of Auraxia has never been easy. Not only did they have to encounter different star beasts but they also encountered those typical beasts hiding in a human's body.
In short, along the way to the temple, Calleous and Cadmus, together with their group of knights and servants, was never a boring travel like what Calleous had expected at first.
Since he was young, he was used to doing whatever he wanted to do, and even if it was at the expense of his safety, because Cadmus could not go against his brother, Calleous had been used to get whatever he wanted.
If he says he will kill the lion king beast, then he will kill it. If he ordered that he must destroy a giants nest of the queen bee alone, then he can do it. And if he wanted the heads of any evil man who tried to show their fangs to him and his brother, then he would off their heads on his own.
And that became enough reason for him to not feel bored along the way even if they had passed by more than ten kingdoms, big or small, and yet according to his brother, they are still not there.
What is still not there? Aren't they traveling for more than three months? Why aren't they still not there yet?
He might be guilty of why they had been roaming around as long as that because of his random solo hunting. At first, he could wait in the carriage for two to three days without doing any strenuous activity such as hunting but in the latter course, it became his daily training.
Still, that wasn't enough reason for the long journey that they had been taking.
"Why is it so far, brother? I may not be feeling bored but I am getting impatient. When are we going to reach the place?" Calleous asked his elder brother in a spoiled manner.
They were inside the luxurious carriage and it was now only him and his brother who were left inside. After their separation with their parents on the Valdem Kingdom, the carriage became a lot bigger for the two of them.
And every time their travel was getting peaceful, Calleous would feel stuffy staying inside so he would ask for his brother's assent to let him ride a horse and have himself survey their surroundings to look for a safe place to stay.
Although his real reason for saying that was because he wanted to let off some steam by hunting some beasts and wild animals to become his practice target first before becoming their meal.
At first, when Cadmus had heard of this, he was worried for his brother and didn't allow the other to go when Calleous once again asked for his consent the next day. It even resulted in a cold war between them and Cadmus; as a brocon, he was the one who raised the white flag in the end, as expected.
He wanted to try his sovereignty over his brother but he forgot just how of a brocon he is that the so-called sovereignty over his brother didn't exist to begin with.
That night, while he was waiting for the return of his brother from his solo hunt, Master Luc had come to him to talk and have a serious conversation with him. At first, Cadmus was still distracted because of his worry over his brother, who's not back yet but when he heard that it was something related to his brother, he could only listen intently.
"Your Majesty, please do not think that I am being nosy about your relationship with your brother but I just heard it in passing and I got worried about Your Highness the Prince as well as Your Majesty's safety so I want to clarify this to Your Majesty," Master Luc started.
Cadmus wanted to cut him off and hurried him to go straight to the point because he already said it a moment before but he held himself.
"I notice that your majesty was trying to stop the prince from hunting alone this afternoon and to be honest, his majesty shouldn't have done that. We all know that the prince now is a blessed blood knight and enormous strength and power come from earning that title."
"This power and strength was formed into an energy that every knight has within our body that we can naturally gather from nature. The higher our rank, the more blessed we are by the goddess. And the more blessed we are, the easier it is for us to suck the energy. Blood knights are known as the most sacred and highest rank among all knights so they are prone to sucking a larger amount of this energy."
"That means his highness the prince had been consuming a large amount of energy and if he wasn't allowed to release some of it, he might be consumed by it and might explode for containing too much energy within."
"So I suggest that Your Majesty must always allow his highness to release it through hunting." Master Luc ended in a very dreary tone that Cadmus' face had darkened more.
He has no idea. He wasn't informed about how dangerous it was actually to have that great blessing from the goddess.
If he had known it earlier, he could at least have prevented his brother from taking the blood knight oath. Looking back at his brother's expression, it was obvious that he himself wasn't aware of the danger his oath had brought him.
Cadmus wasn't getting worried because of how his brother may end up tiring himself from fighting just to release the energy within his body or about how he might end up exploding if he couldn't handle well those energy.
What made Cadmus more worried was how he had to let his brother put himself in danger just to keep himself from a bigger danger. Isn't that too ironic?
"Is there no other way aside from fighting beasts?" Cadmus asked uneasily.
"There is some, but I don't think both your majesty and his highness wouldn't allow it," Master Luc answered hesitantly.
Cadmus almost exploded there and then but he controlled himself and tightly clenched his fists before letting out a quiet sigh.
"Let this king hear it. As long as there is a way, I am willing to see to it."
Master didn't answer immediately. He just watches the young king's expression like testing the waters and when he finds nothing bad in Cadmus' expression, he speaks.
"Sex." Master Luc straightforwardly let go of the bomb.
"Se—what?!" Cadmus repeated.
He felt like he was turned deaf after hearing that explosive word from Master Luc's mouth. Despite that, his eyes were still full of genuine confusion when he looked at Master Luc yet the intensity of his tone when he asked speaks volumes.
"Sex, Your Majesty. His Highness must have sexual intercourse, which will help him release the extra energy in his body." Master Luc tried to detail his words. "Some of the famous grandmasters who are already old to fight off the beasts were using this method to release the extra energy out of their bodies. So some grandmasters had a hidden mistress, which became a normal case in the eyes of the people."
"As for his Highness the Prince, he was still young and was free to experiment in that demand. With the Prince's face, it was not hard to find him some beauty as an outlet. Although finding a more beautiful lady than him may be hard."
When Cadmus heard it for the second time, it clarified that he didn't mishear Master Luc the first time. But that only incensed his fury and disbelief that he did not hesitate to kick off the knight master out of the carriage.
Master Luc's hesitation at the beginning was proven right. Cadmus definitely would not allow that to let his brother experience it. No, not even allowing Calleous to know that other way.
It was fine. Allowing Calleous on his daily solo hunt was truly the best way and there's no other way aside from that.
Master Luc may not have specifically told how to release the energy when under sexual intercourse but for Cadmus, Calleous was never and can never be a top who can ravage a woman in sex.
It might end up the other way around—a woman ravaging his brother in a sexual play! And that was why he would never allow that to happen! No way! Over his dead body! Never!
"What never? Are you joking now, Cadie? I was asking when we were going to reach the temple and you answered 'never'?" Calleous voice full of sarcasm had pulled Cadmus back from his reverie.
"That wasn't what I meant," Cadmus embarrassedly denied.
"So you're spacing out on me?"
"That wasn't either," he quickly denied.
Calleous couldn't believe his brother so he only stared into his eyes like he was reading what was going on in his head at this moment.
He was getting bored again inside the carriage even though he just had woken up from a nap when he decided to keep himself busy by asking and talking to his boring brother yet the other had actually zoned out before him!
Cadmus could fully see that his brother was getting angry. He didn't want the other to get mad at him by telling some obvious lie yet he also didn't want to tell the other what he was zoning about because that would also result in the latter's anger as well.
Whatever he takes, both would result in his brother's madness and it's making him feel crazy in panic. Fortunately for him, a savior came to help him.
"Your Majesty, his Highness the Prince. We are about to enter the Briar Kingdom. Would you like to stay in an inn or do we directly travel for three days to reach the city of Auraxia?"
