As he entered, he happened to encounter Mrs. Andrea coming out of the house, accompanied by two cats, Meredith and Olivia. The two little ones meowed at him as they saw him.
"Hi, Annie!"
Faced with Mrs. Andrea, Link felt somewhat embarrassed, unsure of how to explain himself.
"You're back. Taylor is upstairs. Whatever you have to say, go tell her."
Mrs. Andrea picked up the two kittens and walked out of the villa expressionlessly.
Link took off his hat, changed into comfortable clothes, and went upstairs to the piano room. Standing at the door, he listened for a moment, but there was no sound from inside.
"Darling, are you there? I'm back."
Link knocked on the door and called out.
There was no response from inside.
"Darling, I apologize. I should have pushed Emma away at that time."
Link explained a bit from outside, recounting the events of that day.
After the match, his adrenaline was high, and he wanted to do something crazy. Emma happened to run into the locker room, and in that moment, he lost control, leading to the incident. Fortunately, at the crucial moment, he remembered his identity and immediately pushed Emma away without going any further.
But regardless of the reason, it was his own weak willpower, unable to resist the temptation of the opposite sex, committing a mistake that any man could make.
Link spoke for a while, but Taylor still did not respond.
As he was about to continue apologizing, a pleasant piano melody came from inside. It was a tune he had never heard before, not even on any of Taylor's albums.
Link was surprised. Could this incident have inspired Taylor to write a new song?
The piece started gentle and warm, like a breeze, but later transitioned to a more intense and turbulent rhythm, reminiscent of a thunderstorm, with the power to destroy everything, similar to Taylor's song "Blank Space."
Link felt his scalp tingle.
The piano playing continued for more than four minutes.
It ended abruptly.
Link asked Taylor if it was her new song and if she had written lyrics for it, complimenting it as a great song with a high chance of topping the charts.
Taylor still did not respond.
Link sighed helplessly and heard footsteps behind him. Turning around, he saw Mrs. Andrea, Mrs. Mandy, Catherine, and a round-faced Selena holding Olivia.
They all had expressions as if watching a good show.
"Ha, Link, I told you long ago, don't be two-timing as a man. How is it now? Fell into the water, right?"
Selena walked over, holding the cat, and mocked him with her big round eyes.
Link tapped her forehead. Selena covered her forehead, glaring at him angrily, "You dare hit me? Link, did you forget who I am? I am the saintess who can communicate with gods. Hitting me will get you punished by the gods, severely punished."
Seeing this girl pretending to be a saintess, Link raised his hand, scaring her a step back, and laughed, "Do you know who I am? I am the god!"
"Hmph!"
Selena rolled her eyes at him, pouting her chubby cheeks, and walked to the door, shouting, "Taylor, don't forgive this stinky guy Link. He's too bad. You must give him the cold shoulder for at least three days, one day without speaking to him. This bad guy doesn't deserve our attention."
"Don't talk nonsense!"
Mrs. Mandy walked over, smiling, "It's normal for couples to have conflicts. It's also normal to quarrel and even fight. There's no couple who never argues."
"Mom, you mean that no matter who I find as a boyfriend in the future, I'll quarrel and fight with him? Is it so scary to have a boyfriend?"
Selena blinked her bright eyes, looking curiously at Mrs. Mandy, Catherine, and Mrs. Andrea.
Mrs. Mandy tapped her forehead and pointed to the room, whispering, "I'm advising Taylor, don't interrupt."
Selena hummed softly, her big eyes turning, and said, "Link caused this trouble. I think we should leave it to him to handle. If he can coax Taylor well, it's his luck. If not, it's his own fault. We're not much help here."
Link glanced at her. Although Selena's words were harsh, they were true. The person who tied the knot must untie it. To persuade Taylor, he still needed to work hard himself.
He thanked Mrs. Andrea, Mrs. Mandy, and Catherine, as he hadn't been able to come back in time the past two days, leaving the house affairs to them.
Now that he was back, he would take care of the remaining issues himself.
Mrs. Mandy and Mrs. Andrea had things to do and left one after another.
Catherine reminded him not to rush.
A proud, capricious, and smart girl like Taylor would not easily accept betrayal. When dealing with her, one needed to be patient, use sweet words, and follow her lead. The problem wouldn't be too serious.
Link nodded repeatedly as he listened.
"Selena, are you leaving?"
Catherine asked the cat-holding Selena.
"No! I want to stay here to watch the fun. No, I mean to help Link persuade Taylor and prevent them from fighting without someone to intervene."
Selena said, sniffing her delicate nose.
Catherine, seeing her short stature, thought it would be difficult for her to stop two tall people from fighting. However, the probability of Link and Taylor fighting was low, so Selena's intervention wouldn't be needed.
"Alright, you stay here, but remember, there's an internal crew meeting at four in the afternoon."
"I know, I remember."
Selena nodded repeatedly.
After Catherine left, Selena stuck out her tongue, sat on the carpet with the two kittens, and said, "Oli, Merry, what if that fool can't get in? There's a ladder in the toolshed. Should we remind that fool to get the ladder and climb in through the window?"
Meow!
Meredith meowed at Link.
Link glanced at the round-faced girl and walked to the piano room door, knocking, "Darling, please open the door. I suddenly had an inspiration for a great song and need the piano. Can I?"
"Link, stop it! If we can't get in, we can wait. Using tricks is bad and will have severe consequences."
Selena hurriedly ran over and grabbed his arm.
"I really had an inspiration."
Link said, pressing her shoulder.
Click!
The door opened, and Taylor appeared at the entrance, her golden hair loose, wearing a T-shirt and jeans, her face bare and expressionless, holding a sharp pencil tightly in her right hand, veins visible on her fair hand.
"Hi, Taylor!"
Selena blinked her big eyes and smiled at Taylor.
Taylor nodded reluctantly. As Link was about to greet her, Taylor narrowed her blue eyes and said coldly, "I will never let a man fool me twice. You better really need the piano."
"Really, I'm not lying. Are you okay?"
Link looked at Taylor's face and asked guiltily.
Taylor didn't answer, walking to the piano, holding the pencil and staring at him coldly.
"Link, you're dead this time."
Selena muttered, pushing him on the back and running to stand beside Taylor, looking around. She picked up a crystal trophy and glared at Link, her expression fiercer than Taylor's.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and write the song. Whatever it is, you must write something. Otherwise, you won't get out today."
Selena waved the trophy, winking at Link.
Link shook his head, sitting at the piano, his slender fingers on the black and white keys.
What song should he write?
An apology?
An explanation?
He looked at Taylor's face, no longer as warm as before, now cold and distant.
He shrugged helplessly. This was all self-inflicted, nothing more to explain.
"Ahem!"
Seeing him sitting there without moving, Selena shook Taylor's arm, whispering, "Link just got off the plane, his brain is still foggy. How about giving him another day to think carefully?"
Taylor snorted softly and turned to leave.
At that moment, the piano started playing softly, a bit rough at first but sounding pretty good, like a new song.
Taylor stopped, and Selena, about to follow, also stopped, looking back in surprise.
You know I try but I don't do too well with apologies
You know I try to get you back, but I'm not good at apologizing
I hope I don't run out of time
I hope it's not too late
Could someone call a referee?
Can someone help mediate between us?
Cause I just need one more shot at forgiveness
Because I just want you to give me one more chance to ask for your forgiveness
I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice
"Wow!"
After hearing a couple of lines, Selena was wide-eyed, mouth forming an 'O'. She looked at Link and then at Taylor, surprised.
"I don't think I've heard this song before. Taylor, have you?"
Taylor shook her head slightly, frowning, listening quietly to the song.
Is it too late now to say sorry?
Is it too late to say sorry now?
Yeah I know that I let you down
Is it too late to say I'm sorry now?
I'm sorry, yeah
Sorry
Hearing these lines, Selena covered her mouth in surprise. This guy actually wrote a song specifically to apologize, and it was a really good song. That's too amazing.
She looked at Taylor curiously, wondering if Link's apology in this way could win her forgiveness.
