The next three days felt like an eternity to Ryvian. Her whole body was hot and then cold and filled with excrucuating pain as her body went through the changes.
Finally the pain faded away and she opened her eyes.
She was back in her room at the estate. A large blanket thrown over her.
She went to sit up, but realized two arms were holding her down.
She was perfectly nestled between Arkonus and Hagren, who were both fast asleep, their arms hugging onto her as if she might disappear at any second.
Feeling claustrophobic she wiggled free, waking them both up in the process.
"You're awake!" Ark yelled out in surprise. He hugged onto Ryvian tightly.
"About time, I was getting a little worried for a bit there" Hagren said as he sat up and yawned.
Ryvian patted Arkonus's arm comfortingly and blushed as she realized both of the boys were shirtless.
"How long was I out for?" She asked, her voice rough from lack of use.
"About three and a half days" Arkonus said as he let go of her and moved the hair from her face. "How are you feeling?"
Ryvian shrugged.
"Not much different I suppose" She said confused.
Hagren patted her head.
"You will eventually, it takes a little time for your vampiric nature to kick in. Especially since you aren't vampire royalty." He explained with a soft smile.
The memories of everything that happened suddenly hit Ryvian and she whipped around to look at Arkonus.
"What happened to Amy? Was she really a spy for Vyromere? Where did that old man get the 'god killing dagger'? What happened after I lost consciousness?" Ryvian spewed out, unable to hold back her curiousity.
Ark held up his hands.
"Woah there, slow down. We'll explain everything" He said, calmly.
"Amy was definitely a spy for Vyromere. When we got back she was no where to be found and a ton of expensive stuff was missing from my office and the kitchen." He said, looking sad and frustrated "That old man was one of the hunter's leaders, Vyromere must have told them we were coming in exchange for the opportunity to kidnap you and kill me off."
Hagren began rubbing his back to calm him down as his expression turned to anger.
"We aren't sure how he got the dagger, we thought it was a myth before then" Hagren said.
"We lost a ton of vampires that day, but they also lost a ton of hunters. After you passed out Hagren ordered everyone to retreat and we fled." Arkonus continued to explain. "It's only a matter of time before the other leaders of the hunters attack us, especially with Hagren now being the next leader of vampire royalty"
Ryvian looked over at Hagren in surprise as he smiled bashfully.
"I was the next in line after Vyromere, although I don't feel like I am cut out for it" He said awkwardly.
Ryvian patted his cheek gently.
"Of course you are" She said encouragingly "You will do great"
Hagren smiled, his cheeks turning a light pink.
"So what do we do from here?" Ryvian asked as she looked back and forth between the two of them.
"I have another house for emergencies, but its a ways away from here and not in the best of locations for vampires" Arkonus said. "So I guess our first plan of action should be moving there, once we are safe we can start planning on what to do next"
Ryvian and Hagren nodded in agreement.
"But whatever we decide to do, we stick together" Ryvian said, as she hugged them both.
They hugged her back tightly and nodded in agreement.
"Always and Forever".
