"She's too beautiful, the moon goddess is responsible for this", Marie gave a slight chortle while she picked up the king's baby daughter from her cradle, made of sheep's skin and the edge made of lion's skin. "Your mother smiles in the heavens all day because of you" she added. "Your majesty! The King wishes to see his daughter and you", one of the palace guards cried out. Marie has a high rank in the Northern werewolf tribe, though she is not the Queen, she is highly respected even by the King. Marie takes the child to see Elias, the King. "How's my little wolf?" Elias smiles while taking his daughter from Marie." It's time for the ritual, it's already full moon, we don't have much time."
In the Northern werewolf tribe, two prophecies are yet to be fulfilled, but there's a tradition only common to she-wolves that has been strictly followed which started after the first Old time prophesy was revealed. It's been 1000 years since the revelation of this prophecy, but this time, according to their astrology, the people have already begun to anticipate the fulfilment of the prophecy. The ritual is usually conducted, using the blood of the new born she-wolf by the tribe's sorcerer at full moon in the presence of the child's family. The ritual is conducted when a she-wolf is born into any family, be it the Royal family or the commons.
The king's daughter, wrapped with sheep's skin, (this symbolizes that the child is a wolf, but cannot change form into one since the child is below 2 years old, literally, most people would say "a wolf in sheep clothing") is placed on an altarlet where the intensity of the moon light can be felt more. Her blood is mixed with some potions and as the sorcerer begins to chant his incantations, "rahamezhakraku, zenbrutamedrahuxa, oh great moon goddess! And mighty warrior she-wolf! Let both your light and might be upon this child if she is your chosen one, set to be a voice for her people! Behold your daughter, Sirena! Hukunatemgravunfrahem, rahamezhakraku!" The moon's light begins to intensify and becomes brighter than usual. After the incantations, the sorcerer pours the child's blood mixture, with the potions around the child. Immediately, a strange happening occurs, the moon's light shines directly on the child and she begins to levitate. And while she levitates, the spirit of the two great gods (the moon goddess and the warrior she-wolf), like a transfiguration, appear in bright light, and as they touch the fore-head of the child, they disappear immediately. With Joy, Elias shouts, "I'll call you Sirena, for your voice shall be heard far and wide and you shall be a voice for our great people. You are a living fulfilment of the old time prophecy, the gods be with you and keep you safe" Tears rolled out from Marie's eyes, as a wise and ancient wolf who had seen the rise and fall of many generations, she knew the significance of Sirena's birth. Before the ritual, she already sensed the spirits of the great gods stirring within the young she-wolf, like their powers ready to be unleashed.
"Don't do this! She's not an ordinary she-wolf, she's not like the rest, but she's meant to lead this pack, you know this, you know she is the chosen one, the fulfilment of the prophecy!" Elias exclaims. A dark figure with an unknown identity chases Elias, as he runs with Sirena in his hands, he trips and falls to the ground. Even as Elias transforms to his full wolf form, he still isn't capable of bringing the dark figure to the ground. Slowly, the dark figure pulls out a knife and heads towards Elias, and while this figure is about to kill him with the knife, Elias wakes up with a shout, looking rough, scared and in his wolf form. He realizes that he is on his throne with Sirena asleep in his hands. "Are you okay?" Marie comes, rushing towards where Elias sat. She heard him scream and wondered what had occurred. Elias calls a meeting with everyone that was present during the ritual, including Avenmora, his new mate. He warns them strongly not to let anyone know that Sirena is the chosen one, until she's old enough to stand her grounds. "I just want to protect her until she's ready", he added, "someone is plotting against me and my daughter, she has to be kept safe by all means."
As Sirena grew, some of her powers began to manifest in ways that even she could not control. Her eyes glowed with an otherworldly light. It was clear that the spirits of the gods were awakening within her, their ancient power seeking to break free. Little did she know, the journey ahead would test her courage, her strength, and her heart. But with the spirits of the gods guiding her, Sirena was in the path to embrace her fate and become the legend that The Northern werewolf tribe had been waiting for.
Elias new mate, Avenmora, pretentious in her ways, started to grow a seed of jealousy and hatred in her heart against Sirena. But she couldn't hurt Sirena because she feared Elias. Four years later, after Sirena's birth, Avenmora became pregnant with a boy, a boy who would fulfill the second Old time prophesy. Because of the Joy Sirena brought to her family, they pay little attention to the second prophecy.
On one occasion, Sirena being 5 years old, Elias took Sirena for a walk outside the palace, with his guards. Elias intended to tell his daughter that one day, she'll lead the pack, but he didn't want to disclose everything of her being the chosen one because she was still too young. While they moved, she asks, "Dad, I know that this is daytime, but at night, when we're able to see the moon, why do I always feel like there's a presence around me, and that presence seems to give me peace?" "My daughter, even in the daytime, everything that the light touches, is under the protection of the moon goddess, she gives us peace, and that's the peace you feel. But there's more, the moon goddess's presence is felt more at night, especially when the moon can be seen, is because the moon itself signifies balance and harmony and this power is in the palms of the moon goddess. And that's why we werewolves are stronger at night. Everything and everyone in this pack, whether good or bad is overshadowed by the moon goddess." And when Elias was done speaking, one of his guards riding the chariot asked politely, "My King, shall we head to the woods to hunt as you requested earlier?" "Of course", Elias responded, "let my daughter withness how we get some of the food, she could even join us in the hunt, since she eats a lot." They all laugh, including Sirena. On their way to the woods, they pass the market place. The people noticed that their King presence, they all rushed to greet him. With Elias and his guards not paying much attention to Sirena, she hops out the chariot to settle a dispute as see two little male-wolves arguing over a matter. "Give it back Kurim!" Zohu, one of the little male-wolves shouted." I caught this squirrel myself, it's mine!" Kurim replied angrily. And as they were about fighting each other, Sirena tried to resolve the situation. She said with a calm voice, "why are you two fighting over this meat? It's not right to fight against a member of your pack." "We know you're the King's daughter, but stay out of this, I sighted this squirrel, but my brother Kurim hunted it down and he wants to take it all", Zohu spoke. Sirena calms them down, she tells them that one finds peace with himself when his neighbor is at peace with him, sharing this meat with Joy is better than hurting each other, for there's no difference with the hunt and the hunters. We should honor the peace our moon goddess has tried to give each and everyone of us. As Sirena was done speaking, Kurim and Zohu realized she was right and they shared their hunt happily with each other. They even offered Sirena a bite. And as she was about indulging in their little feast, one of the guards saw her and he said "Ah! There she is, looks like you've made some little friends, but we have to go, your Dad thought you vanished." Sirena got back to the chariot, and as they left the market place, she waved to Kurim and Zohu. "Looks like someone went out to make new friends, hope there was no trouble?" Elias said, with smiles on his face. "No trouble at all Dad, let's get to the hunt", Sirena replied happily.
