She return to her chair, settling down behind the desk, 'I do wonder what is so interesting.'
'Well, the funny thing is, fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice.' I frown, 'No, not happening.'
I crossed my legs, leaning forward, 'How about we drop the act? I above all else know that you are planning an ambush on me.'
Camelia's eyes snapped open 'Wha …How did …'
I plaster my most frightening expression, 'You must think me a fool, Camelia. How can you even think that I would follow you blindly without knowing of your plans? Why don't you signal him, blow off the candle, let's see what he can do.'
She started shivering, 'Uh I …I don't, you are, he is a very dangerous man.'
'I do know how dangerous he is. I also know the tattooed man is someone within the palace walls.' I added.
Camelia gasped shakily, wiping the sweat on her forehead with the back of her hand, 'You know too much. How is that possible?'
I stagger to my feet, stomping down to where she sits and leaned against the desk, staring down at her with a daggering gaze that could cut the head off a hellbear, 'I know he asked you to lure Arya to the market. I know that he is after me specifically, not my life, something else.'
'I do not know, I swear.' She swore.
I chuckled briefly, trailing a lazy finger slowly down her cleavage, 'Have you ever seen the wrath of a vengeful woman? I can do anything, anything to harm my enemies. I swear it to you Camelia, I will have your life in my hands for what you did to Aria.'
She swallowed, 'Listen to me, I …I swear, I only did what I was asked and yes, the man who is after you is within the palace walls, and you know him too. Please spare me!' She begged.
'You are cunning Camelia and I think I have gotten enough from you. There is no other answer I need from you so …' I pick up the candle and bring it to my lips.
Her eyes snapped open, 'No, please no, he is after blood and he will take a life.'
'Yes, he will, but not mine …yours.' I glared, standing and strode behind her chair, 'I do know about the secret door behind this fake portrait, I will be the one running this time.'
'Aria please…' she sharply stand, facing me, 'You need me, I can lure him. Please …let me help you.'
'Help me.' I shook my head, 'No, Camelia. There is no helping here, whatever you do for me is my mercy upon you and nothing else.'
She drop down to my feet, bowing her head, 'I swear, I will do anything, please, I will serve you now, I will do whatever you say. It wasn't my fault Arya was murdered, I didn't know. I didn't!'
I feel tears in my eyes, the pain of losing Arya stirred in my chest, clotting my heart, 'You …' my voice tremors, 'I will never forgive you Camelia and whoever he is, I will find him and I will kill him!'
With those words, I blew the candles and quickly entered the secret room, locking the door.
I hear Camelia whimpering, the heavy footsteps came into hearing. I hear her scream, objects clattering, a loud crashing sound and then she yelped, the excruciating sound of something sharp slicing into flesh echoed through the walls. Camelia gurgling, crashing on the floor and then silence. I hear his heavy breathing.
I peeked through the hole, the moonlight dropped into the window, illuminating the room.
His broad back was facing me, I confirmed the eagle tattoo on his arm and the fresh marks of Camelia's nails rests gruesomely on his neck.
He swept his blue eyes about the room, glanced at Camelia's impaled body now lying in her pool of blood, grunted aggressively and, stormed out of the room.
I sighed in relief, stepping out of my hiding place.
Watching Camelia's dead body brought some peace to my aching soul; I am glad she is dead.
Now the most important thing is to return home.
Running, I get back to the palace. Without bothering about the dirty male clothes I have on, I sprinted to Silas's chambers and without knocking, I barged in.
He had just gotten out of shower and is in his nightwear. His wet platinum blonde hair drips water; i watch as it made its way down his cheek to his sharp jawline, disappearing into his shirt.
'What are you doing here?' He inquired, picking up the silver cup and brought it to his lips but before he could take a sip, I snatched the cup away and as I raised it to drink what's inside, Silas warned, 'Don't …'
But was too late, I had already chugged it down. It wasn't ale, it felt like fire, the saltiest water and spicy flavor had been mixed together in the wine I just had.
The unpleasant taste exploded in my mouth, I just froze and couldn't swallow nor spit it out
Silas cocked his head to one side, leaning to observe me closely.
Our eyes locked, my heart escalating into a thousand fireworks.
I truly missed how I feel when he stares at me with so much attention.
Standing on my toes, I wrap my arms around his shoulders and pressed my lips on his, forcing the drink into his mouth - he swallowed, sharply forcing himself out of my arms.
He squeezed his face, 'Urghh, why would you do that?'
I shrugged, 'You were going to drink it anyway.'
'No I wasn't!' He face me with a frown, 'I was going to smell it, it's uh …it's not something we should intake, just smell.'
I tensed, 'What is it?'
His frown washed into a cunning grin, 'I hear it has the fastest effect on a human, I guess I will have to experience it firsthand.'
As soon as he spoke, goosebumps erupt all over my body, pulse punching through my nails. I was suddenly feeling hot, ticklish, icky.
I let my hair down, hoping it would lessen the weird feeling but it only grew worse.
'Silas I don't like this, I feel so hot.' I complained, scratching my neck, chest, hair, 'Silas!!!' My cry for help got him to inch closer to me, he hold my hands, staring into my eyes, 'I guess it's a bit too aggressive for a human.' His gaze lowered down to my chest, 'Should I interfere?'
I nodded vigorously, 'I can't hold it in any longer.'
'Hm!' He smiled, let me go and, started unbuttoning my shirt, sliding it off my body. My undergarments were still on.
'The pants?' He asked, grabbing my waist and fiercely pulled me close, 'I should take it off too, I think.'
I love it when he pretends to be clueless.
'I guess you will have to.' I played along.
Slowly, Silas sled the pants off my waist and tossed it aside, leaving me feeling exposed in my undergarments.
He stepped back, enigmatic eyes studying my body as if I were a book, 'You are beautiful.' He whispered.
I blushed, 'Silas, are you going to disappear without any trace on the night of the double moon and if you go, I will not remember you, is that why you do not wish to come close to me?'
I caught him totally off guard, 'How did you …' his eyes snapped open, 'Did you travel back in time? How? Does that mean it worked? Did I take my true form? How can you even know that? Just how powerful are you?'
'It wasn't my doing, I don't know how it happened but you suddenly made me blast you with my powers, you fell into the ocean, I wake up the next day and you were gone. No one remembered you except me and it felt like I was losing my mind.' I began sobbing, 'Someone else took your place and I had to be a wife to him and I was so scared because i didn't… i thought I'd never see you again!'
He inched closer, pulling me into a tight embrace. I hugged him, burying my face in his chest.
Eventually, I pulled away and sniffed, 'I don't want to lose you Silas.'
He cup my face, 'Look Aria, you just have to accept our fate, it can't be escaped. Sooner or later, it will happen. I must disappear and you might not remember me and even if you do, I might never come back and turning back the hands of time will not help it, will only slow down the inevitable.'
In a tearful tone, I asked, 'Won't you change your mind? Please?'
He sighed, looking away, 'I'm afraid I can't.'
I took a deep breath, 'Even if I tell you I'm in love with you?'
Silas sharply flicked around to face me with a widened gaze, 'What did you just say?'
